Identify your profession or future profession, and provide a brief background on the typical job responsibilities. My major is education. My degree will be in early childhood education. As a teacher, I will be creating lesson plans. I will present lessons in a way that facilitates learning. Plan for class activities. Teaching allow teachers to help with student’s instructive needs, capabilities, and successes. Dispensing work and correcting students’ work. Discuss what federalism is and why it is essential. According to Fine and Levin-Waldman (2016), “New federalism which was intended to restore the traditional balance between states and the national government” (para.
8). The critical part of federalism is dividing the controls between the national government and state governments. This serves a deterrent to tyranny and runaway power. Tyranny is meaning unjust government. This makes sure that all power is not put into one single person or group.
This doesn’t allow for excessive power among one group to allow for corruption. By having federalism in place and allowing the state to solve their problems you allow more efficiency within the system.
Since countries can make their laws and rules, this allows for cities to feel that their needs are being heard. States rather than government are more able to listen to citizen needs and respond to them. Discuss your policy or piece of legislation that you have selected for your Final Paper and how federalism impacts it. The policy I will be talking about in my paper is Every Child Succeed Act.
I feel that by talking about this act, this will better me as a teacher going into the education program. ESSA states have the power to plan their path to educational achievement. This act ensures all students in America be skilled to high academic ideals that will train them to succeed in college and occupations. Discuss the federalism challenges that the policy you have selected is creating or facing.
No one can gauge every child’s is getting an equal base education. Each state decides in collaboration with federal what educational goals are appropriate. They are not going to be the same goals state to state. The government works for us but doesn’t control us. The government should support the states. The only reason we have a federal government is that all the states can understand what other countries are doing. The glue between the states. One of the challenges is that state policymakers cannot make conclusions about how to outline teacher success. What kind of procedures to include in the school responsibility system. This, in turn, makes as though it is shortening the curriculum over-relying on standardized test scores. Another challenge is the education department has lacked the workforce, resources, and practical proficiency to provide constant observation and guidance of state fulfillment with national education programs. Federal strategy and the education department will have to determine how to pilot policy territory and find a way to partner with state education organizations.
