When I Created and Sold My First Video Game

I believe I have been selected for the Person of the Millenium for the many accomplishments I have made during my life. One reason why I believe this is because I am the co-founder and CEO of Tesla Motors. Tesla makes fully electric cars that help the environment and reduce emissions greatly. Another reason is that I am the founder and CEO of SpaceX. SpaceX is a private space exploration and transportation company that focuses on reducing the cost of space transportation and being able to colonize Mars.

We have succeeded in usable rockets which will greatly reduce costs for the consumer. In addition to that I have started The Boring Company which focuses on establishing a tunnel network to greatly reduce traveling times. The tunnels are called hyper loops and will have very high-speed trains that could theoretically get you from Los Angeles to New York in 45 minutes. These are just some reasons why I believe I have been selected as a candidate for the Person of the Millennium.

Two events in my life that eventually led to a change in my ideology were when I created and sold my first video game and when I created and sold Zip2. When I was about 12 years old I started to teach myself how to program computers. After that I made my first video game by myself and sold it. This brought up my confidence a lot because it was my first time making a video game and it made me feel accomplished so that’s when I knew I had to work with technology.

In 1995 my brother and I developed a new company called Zip2. It was a software company that provided to high-end newspaper clients like The New York Times. This was a huge part of my life because it paved the way for future projects because it gave me confidence that I can do this and it backed me up financially to do stuff in the future.

Candidate: I have faced many challenges that have caused a change in my life. During the Financial Crisis of 2008 Tesla was struggling to fund the Model S. To save the company, I chose to bankrupt myself in order to save the company. In doing this I lost my wife and I was broke. After the release of the very successful Model S, Tesla became one of the most valuable car companies in the world and I was able to get my money back. Another challenge that I have faced was in 2016 when SpaceX tried to land a rocket on a platform at sea. The rocket landed slightly off and went up in flames. This was news was everywhere and really set us back as a company. We had to learn from our mistakes and retry landing it and it was successful and we regained our supporters. Those were probably the two most challenging parts of my life so far.
