Dependence On Your Actions

Topics: Eminem

My mother always told me, “who you are shaped into is based upon your actions.” These very words came to mind almost immediately, which in turn invited similar notions that too, resonated with me throughout. The characters are defined by their behavior that occur in the novel and ultimately depicts what type of character trait suits them best. Which brings me to my point, the theme songs that represent the characters Atticus, Jem, and Scout are determined based on their actions.

To commence, the theme song that would best represent Scout would be “Symphony No. 40 in G minor” by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. To summarize, the song is quite popular due to the fact that students listen to this song while studying.

Harper Lee expounds that Scout is quite a ingenious girl, “…and after making me read most of My First Reader and the stock-market quotations from The Mobile Register aloud, she discovered that I was literate and looked at me with more than faint distaste.

” Simply put, Miss Caroline despise Scout for being so knowledgeable at a young age. In the same way, she is quite impressive for being able to do these kinds of things thanks to her caring father, Atticus Finch. This is significant because Mozart’s song would be played when someone is studying and not trying to get distracted by any of our modern music and other stuff, but instead focus on their education. Thus, “Symphony No. 40 in G minor” would be the song that best suits Scout for how sharp she is.

Equally as important, the theme song that would best represents Atticus’ character of compassionate would be “I’ll Be There For You”, by Bon Jovi. In short, Harper Lee expounds the trait by providing details of Atticus being compassionate by looking at Tom Robinson as human and not a monster, unlike the other townsfolk in Maycomb, despite being Tom being a black man accused of raping a white woman. It is evident in Ms. Lee’s description of Mr. Finch that he shows the character trait of caring towards people of any race, gender, age, etc., “Atticus sighed. “I’m simply defending a Negro—his name’s Tom Robinson. He lives in that little settlement beyond the town dump. He’s a member of Calpurnia’s church, and Cal knows his family well. She says they’re clean-living folks.” To put it another way, Atticus explains to Scout as to who he’s defending and talks about Tom Robinson quite nicely. This illustrates Atticus’ role in defending Tom Robinson, like the song, Bon Jovi is saying in the song that he “will be there for you” and willing to help.

This shows that Bon Jovi, like Atticus, will be willing to help when the chance is available. Hence, Atticus is caring for defending someone no one else would. In addition, the theme song that would best suit Jem would be “Just Lose It” by Eminem. As can be seen, “To Kill a Mockingbird” mentions quite a few times on how Jem can just lose his control and cause mischief in Maycomb, Alabama. Harper Lee informs us that Jem can be mischievous when sneaking into people’s lawns, “We spat ourselves dry, and Jem opened the gate slowly, lifting it aside and resting it on the fence. We were in the back yard.” To rephrase it, Scout is talking about Jem, Dill, and herself sneaking into the Radley’s backyard, trying to find Boo Radley, otherwise known as Arthur Radley. To illustrate, Jem thinks it’s okay to do this, but Scout feels insecure about the situation.

This shows, how Jem likes to play around like the boy in the “Just Lose It” music video; jumping on the bed and getting an Eminem CD when his mom tells him no. Therefore, “Just Lose It” shows how Jem is mischievous. There are quite a few similarities these characters share. The characters are all in the same family. The characters are also similar in terms of how educated they are when it comes to school, or in court. In addition, they are quite respective of other people and show kindness, as well as how rich they are. In final analysis, without a personality life is meaningless! To reiterate my point, the actions of Jem, Scout, and Atticus affect their character traits and determine their theme songs. Now, you need to know how to control your actions because they determine what kind of person.
