Embrace uncertainty. Acceptance is not tolerance. Don’t close the window! Let the sunshine in. Change can be sunshine if you let it in. If not you, then who? If not now, then when? I know making a big life change is scary. You may ask me will it be easy, the answer is definite no. Worth it? Absolutely!
What is intelligence? Anyone can define intelligence because intelligence is an umbrella that has much room for interpretation. I define intelligence as the ability to adapt any situation and more importantly turning the situation to your advantage.
Knowledge is a preacher of great power and eloquence, but it is downfall if you’re not adaptable. One’s ability to change determines one’s intelligence level. Say, you are sailing a ship west (say, Titanic) and you are the helmsman. You spot a storm coming from the west direction. You cannot make the storm disappear and no albatross is charming you. You either continue your journey west or adjust your sails.
Have you ever seen a river? The sun makes netted sunbeam dance on the river. The turquoise blue river embroidered its frolicsome course through the forest. How meandering and winding is its course! Perhaps, the soul of the forest, I would say. The river orchestrating an oasis of serenity – babbling and burbling, it sprung over the rock in its way. Pebbles whisked about in the under wash like pieces of glitters. And finally reaches its destination, the sea But wait…It courses around the rock, rather not washing it away.
It is changing its course! Are you saying that the river can change its course for a rock? Similarly, one really has to change to be successful. Learn to adapt yourself to the obstacles you face. You must change your strategies and know how and when to make changes in order to reach the target and be successful.
The world we live in expect us to play a risky business with life. You can’t tackle a risky business if no changes are brought. Obstacles are broken bridges in your life. No amount of worry can help you cross the bridge; it will only ease away your peace. Use your intelligence to mend the broken bridge. Don’t be deterred by obstacle’s formidable height, learn how to climb it or work around it. Courting obstacles will help you curve your life. Learn to accept them or they will hold us hostage and confine our creative space. Acceptance is not tolerance.
Postponing or resisting them makes the change painful. Some people prefer to spend lives doing the same things and avoiding change like the tree. During bad weather, the tree stands tall and proud and doesn’t sway the way the wind blows, they resist. Whereas, the grass adjust with weather it bends the way the wind is blowing. In the end, the tree falls down not the grass, Resisting change is a lost case. The recipe of change is to using intelligence to make an intellectual change.
