The Abortion Debate One of the most divisive issues in our country is over abortion and a woman’s right to choose.
There is a large portion of the United States that call themselves “pro-life.” Pro-choice movement also known as the United States abortion-rights movement is a sociopolitical movement in the United States supporting the view that a woman should have the legal right to an elective abortion, meaning the right to terminate her pregnancy. Then there’sa planned parenthood movement.
Planned Parenthood was founded on the idea that women should have the information and care they need to live strong, healthy lives and fulfill their dreams. Most would say that someone who has a more liberal view of the world is pro choice and someone who is more conservative is pro life.
Although there may prove to be a correlation between political view and view on abortion, there are people in this world on both sides of the issue. Some support a woman’s right to choose abortion, while others think the right to life is more important than a woman’s right to choose. Many people are in the middle of the issue, and support it ona situational basis. People tend to be unsure until the situation is explained and the individual takes their own morality and social morality into consideration. Pro-life organizations have even advocated violent means to achieve their goals in addition to the twin “legislation and litigation” strategies that are commonly used in their arguments against abortion.
Abortion was legal when the United States was found, it was people who made it hard for women to decide what they personally want in their life. Anti-abortionist asks women to have a kid and then give up their child for adoption or “Should’ve been careful at first” but what they don’t realize is that there could be many reasons a women need an abortion, in some cases it could be life threatening or there was a big change in their life, eg. Accident and death or it could be a rape case. A women should have every right to abortion if it was a rape or if her medical condition doesn’t allow her to give birth. Sometimes what people don’t realize is that even if they force a women to not have an abortion, it’l not benefit the child in any way.
The women could face physical or mental illness which could be harmful for the child. Sometimes, a women simply isn’t ready to have a child or give up her child for adoption is not an option for them for whatever reason. If you see it from a biological perspective, a fetus is not a developed child, therefore it couldn’t be labeled as “murder” but anti- abortionist doesn’t see it that way. However, even if the women is not a victim of rape, they all should be able to make decision that’ll affect her life in many ways. Other reason should not have the right to decide what a women should or should not do with her uterus. They don’t know what she’s going through or why she want an abortion. Every person should have such rights about their life.
