Beep throwing my arm across my bed, and hitting the snooze button on my alarm clock. As I rolled, staring at the bright sunshine reflecting on my ceiling, I knew it was going to be a great day, looking out the window. Seeing all my friends knocked out cold on my floor and Lrundied bed. Getting up slowly, not making a sound, wandering off to the kitchen, going cook breakfast for everyone hoping they will get up soon Thinking about another wonderful day planned.
Attending a fall football game in “Death Valley” known as LSU stadium it became a regular thing to do with a bunch of girlfriends every year. We all enjoy going every year together Having fun by tailgating before every game, gives us time to pump up for in the stands, Cheering, and sing with the band.
Walking out of my house with everyone, I start to think, ”Do 1 have everything? is my fuel tank full? Where the food and drinks?” Rushing back into the house, I grabbed food along with the drinks.
After, I set them all in the truck and jumped in Buckling up, and pulling out my driveway we were finally on our way to the game plugging my iPhone into my radio we began to sing, laugh, and jam while on the road. We were riding for an hour or two, with traffic from fans traveling to Baton Rouge. We finally arrived! Ending up on the main stretch to find a parking spot, they already had so many people tailgating all that was going through my mind was, “Where are we going to find a decent parking spot?” approaching a field, directed by the police.
We finally got a parking spot, it was further away from the stadium then I expected.
As we started waling I was curious about any other parking spot left around the stadium, Calling friends that was already partying out there, “Everything was full” they said, noticing I won’t be able to get out anyways I just went relaxed. See that there was a huge, black lifted truck in front of me anyways. Besides that a shocking, red mustang pulled behind me, Leaving me only the choice to stay where I originally parked. Grabbing everything out the truck, we began to walk It was so hot outside, along with the sun beating down on us. A bit of sweat started to appear on my forehead. I was hoping that my uncle’s RV wasn’t much further Arriving there we all rushed into the a/c to cool off, Tailgating the rest of the day, before all heading into the stadium, The sun was finally going down, while entering the stadium All your hear is fan’s screaming, “LSU, LSU, LSU” you know it’s time for a good ole game to take place.
Half time came quickly, the wind brushing into my face Out of nowhere, it began to rain people ran down the staircase, slipping and bussing their tails on the cement, getting into a dry area. The game was still going on with two minutes left. The stadium was about empty, the rain eventually got harder, Deciding its time to head back to the car. Walking with my huge umbrella cover about half of us, we began to run. Thinking it might help to get to the truck quickly Noticing there were only two trucks left in the field we parked in, the lifted truck in front of me and us, Grabbing the handles we got in the truck, soaking wet. Click, Click, Click! Trying to start my dad’s old, white Chevy pick up truck. Alarmed, of the noise, I suddenly hear coming from the truck, what‘s that noise, Brittany! Not saying a word, I turned to them jittery saying, “The truck won’t start’l What are we going to do?
Stuck in the middle of a field at 12:45 pm, the rain didn‘t help either. It was dark and we were scared, Our nerves were so bad, reaching for our cellphones to call for help. I turned my head seeing a tall, young guy approaching the truck parked in front of me. He rushed into his truck shining the lights into the truck. He had seen that we were all in the truck looking around with no headlights on, Getting out his truck, running to the driver side window, He asked is “something wrong?” Telling him everything he laughed, like it was nothing, His response was “Don’t worry I can help,” He ran back to his truck, walking back, it looked like he grabbed a tint. Popping the hood, reaching for the jumping cables he had, attaching them to each truck to see if it will work. He told me to get in the truck and turn the key, Crossing my fingers I heard “Roam, Roam“ it started The biggest smile came across my face.
While slowly all my negative thoughts and worries drained away running out, I thanked him so much for his help for everything. He looked at me and smiled saying, “Don’t mention it, l’m glad I could help.” Knowing if he wasn’t in that parking lot, we could’ve been there much longer: since nobody had a signal, or was able to get in touch with anyone around. That night made me realize, they do have some great, caring people in this world. That would lend a hand if needed you just has to think about someone other than yourself. Knowing anything could happen at any moment showing respect to others when needed, it might help you, in the long run, so be kind and help one another.
