What was the Jim Crow System? -These were laws that separated Blacks and Whites under every circumstance. 2. Where and when was the JC System? The system took place in 1955 in the Southern parts of America. 3. Why was this system created? This system was created to prevent the blacks from taking over the south. 4. How were African Americans treated and expected to act under such a system? African Americans were expected to abide by the laws which included not looking at whites, associating with whites, or any contact whatsoever.

Blacks were expected to live their lives with everything non luxury while the whites were treated like first class. 5. Who was Emmett Till? He was a 14 year old African American boy from Chicago. 6. How old was he when he was killed? Emmett was only 14 years old when he was murdered. 7. When and where was he killed? He was killed on August 28, 1955 in the Mississippi Delta at the Tallahatchie River. 8. Why was he killed? He was accused of flirting with a white woman.
