The following example essay on “My Mom Is a Chinese Immigrant” tells about the author’s mother and their life, about the experience that she learned from her parent.
My Mom cared for me since I was born until now, sacrificing a lot in her lifetime to make my life and my sisters lives better. In my lifetime Ive made many mistakes that made my moms life much harder in many ways, but no matter what my mom still loved and taught me many things, making me the person I am today.
I must admit that my mom isnt always perfect, but she always listens and corrects her mistake. Above all that, shes a kind and understanding person with a golden heart and always there guiding me through my life.
As a child, my mom had a rough childhood and was the oldest in the family so she had huge responsibility taking care of her 2 siblings, doing most of the house chores and cooking.
For me, that is too much responsibility for me to handle, but for my mom, its no sweat and that blows me away because for her to take that responsibility it comes with a lot of stress and pressure, while keeping up with studies which are like 10x what we get.
Bottom line my mom is more than anything I can be, for example at the age of 19 she immigrated to Canada and mortgaged a house and until now shes still a beast. At home, its only me, my sister and my mom who supports the family and does practically all the chores in the house, including cooking not even fussing about which unbelievable to me but mom taught how to dream big and work hard to make those dreams a reality so Im determined to work and be responsible just like my mom.
She is always very optimistic since she deals with new situations with pride and joy for example when she gets into a car accident, she always stays calm and talks with the person instead of shouting or getting angry with each other because that wont solve their problems. As I grow up I want to good at socializing for the reason that I have problems socializing and expressing myself, on the other hand, my mom is the complete opposite of me. Shes awesome socializing and expressing herself to clients. My moms words arent always meaningful but when they are, those words inspire me to be a better person and be proud of myself, no matter what other people say.
My mom taught me that you dont have to be strong. You can break down as long as you pick yourself up and keep pushing forward. She also taught that my life meant something, it meant something to the people around me including her. I was meant to have a life to help others and learn more about myself. When Im down, her strength and power inspire me to overcome difficulties through life. I will be a strong, confident and successful person as my Mothers wish.
