I graduated from the Faculty of Dentistry of the International University of Misr. I am an excellent student among my colleagues, in fact, the fourth in my group. The Fulbright program has always changed the lives of students and has had a great impact on my professional and even personal efforts. It is an honorable achievement to be the cultural voice of my community in American society, but most important is to bring the knowledge gained during my studies abroad back to my home country, Egypt.
However, obtaining this grant is not easy, receiving training from world-class experts; this dream will come true.
Dental materials is the core of dentistry. Specializing in this subject, as I am concerned with the interactions of the next generation of materials with the oral tissues and how this impacts the quality of one’s life positively. Being part of the U.S master’s program gives me the chance to take part in research-based learning in dental materials.
Devoting myself to conduction of a successful research and publication is my aspiration.
As I am extremely eager to learn more about dental materials. In my first years of college, I went to work as a dental assistant in a large dental center which had a laboratory supplied me with crucial knowledge about dental materials’ handling and even its digital technologies like three-dimensional printing and CAD-CAM technologies. I joined MOVE club which is a student activity in university, where I was in the research and development section, that gathered information required to organize events or even perform SPOT analysis with my team and brainstorm on how to overcome problems faced.
In addition, I became an International Association of Dental Students (IADS) certified trainer where I got the chance to organize a self-development course at my university, this made me more self-confident on how to present any topic effectively to pursue my passion in teaching in my university later.
My future ambitions have constantly been ahead of me. Preparing my master’s in dental materials abroad as a Fulbrighter will direct me to a career in research field. This program will help me gain insight and rather deeper clinical understanding within a laboratory setting, where I can conduct research and critically evaluate it. Studying in the U.S holds major advantages like development of practical skill and building solid grounding in the science of materials.
Thanks to this progress in research, I will be capable of turning into an academic professor, teaching students recent advances in dental materials scope, passing hope and developing new generation of knowledgeable researchers. Also, teaching technicians about dental materials. This is one of the problems that Egypt faces, by sufficient understanding; technicians will work hand in hand with dental practitioners. I hope to contribute in searching for solutions to shared international concerns for example, nanoscience-inspired materials is a topic worth researching on how the invention of these materials can prevent dental caries.
