When encountering an unknown material or entering an area where the exposure of the product is unknown, firefighters or first responders should use a NIOSH-certified Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear (CBRN) Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) with a “Level A” protection (CDC, 2107b).
