Hello guys! It’s apparent that a buttermilk cake is on the menu today, since the recipe is being looked at. There are a few things needed to make the buttermilk cake successfully: 3 cups of flour, 4 cups of buttermilk, 1 cup self-rising flour, and 1 tbsp. pure vanilla extract. Make sure to get 4 sticks of softened butter and a Bundt cake pan, too. There are also ingredients needed to make the icing: 1 cup of powdered sugar and a ? stick of melted butter.
First, preheating the oven to 425 degrees F. would be a good start. Wash your hand with soap and warm water for at least two minutes before officially beginning. Gather all of the ingredients to make the actual buttermilk cake. Make sure to separate the dry ingredients from the wet ingredients.
Grease the Bundt pan and let it sit aside while mixing the ingredients together. It is extremely important to make sure every ingredient is measured out properly so you can have a delicious homemade buttermilk cake.
It is also imperative that the oven is preheated. That is also an important step. Next, mix the flour, salt, and baking soda together, until the mixture is smooth. Set it aside. Now, mix the eggs, sugar, vanilla, and softened butter until it is smooth and creamy. Gradually add the flour mixture into the mixture that was just prepared. Once the flour is added and whipped smoothly, add the buttermilk. Mix the mixture until it is smooth. Make sure there are no lumps or bumpy edges present in the cake batter that was just made.
The actual buttermilk cake mix has just been made from scratch. Lastly, take the greased Bundt pan and spray nonstick baking spray evenly all over the inside of the pan. Pour the buttermilk cake batter evenly into the pan. Make sure the batter settles for even distribution. Bake the cake for at least 1 hour and 15 minutes for the best results. It is time to make the icing from scratch now. Mix the powdered sugar and the melted butter together until they are smooth and even.
That would be the homemade icing. Check with a toothpick or fork to see if the cake is done. Make sure to use oven mitts though, because the contents are extremely hot! If the cake is done, remove it from the oven and let it cool on a cooling rack. Once the cake is cooled down but still warm pour the homemade icing mixture all over the top of the cake. Do not smooth the icing: it should look like it is drizzling down the cake. It is optional as to whether to add sprinkles or candy pieces. Decorate the cake accordingly to your style. Cut the cake and enjoy!
