A Football Life in My Eyes

Getting ready for practice in the early morning, putting each pad in the football pants or taping up the cut on the elbow. Falling asleep to film study for the game on Friday night, is a football life. Football is tough, like a regent’s test at the end of the year; it is what we have been preparing for throughout the year. This game has a lot of rules that many players do not follow. It’s a physical and a mental game.

To win there can’t be any mistakes and no player can take a single play off. Through the sweat of the two-a-days and the mid-October sleet, this is where a man with great character shines. Players who love the game put in extra effort to work out in the weight room, watch extra films, and make the next great play. l was that kid who came home from school one day and begged his mom to sign him up for football.

I was seven, and l have never looked back. Football helped make me who I am, and I could not imagine my life without it.

Football has changed my life because it has taught me how to be disciplined and how to commit myself to be apart of something bigger. Football taught me more than how to tackle and how to take a handoff; football taught me to work hard. Because of it, I know I have to work hard for everything in life. Football is a game that is played with a lot of passion and strong emotion.

My passion and strong emotion for the sport have helped me achieve many goals set by myself.
