To start off I am Lexi. I go to Westosha Central High School, I am a sophomore this year. I chose this book because I remember watching the movie and it was a wonderful movie, so I thought I would read the book. I do not like to read that much but when I do read I like to read romance books. My favorite part of the book is when they are young and watching them grow up through their lives and how they were together for 49 years and looking back at the flashbacks throughout the book.
This book is man vs. himself because when Allie and Noah are older they go to a nursing home and while she is there she was diagnosed with alzheimer’s and can not remember her past life with noah. While reading this book you go through many emotions from good and bad flashbacks.
Another book I have read was 13 reasons why, it has the same connection to The Notebook because of the flashbacks back into their past lives.
If I were Allie I would have done the same thing she did. She decided if Lon or Noah was right for her and she chose Noah. I feel like Noah and Allie are good together, Allie’s mom has always liked Noah just didn’t want them together but I think if they are meant to be it will find its way. The character that I am most close to is Allie because she is one of the main characters in this book and her life story is interesting to follow.
The character that I am least close with is Lon because you only know him through the first part of the story then his character fades out of the book.
If I got to talk to the main character I would first ask “Why Allie moved on and didn’t go to find Noah sooner.” and the second question would ask Noah “Did he move on from Allie and give up after the notes were being left unresponded and was with anyone else or did he wait all that time for her?” I’m thinking that Allie would say she did not go sooner because of her mom and I think Noah will say no but I am not sure exactly what he will say. In this book The Notebook it is written in first person point of view. The author used a lot of imagery in the beginning of the storying using flashbacks to World War 2. The dialogue in this book is super warm warming. The one quote is “It’s not gonna be easy, it’s gonna be really hard. And we’re gonna have to work at this everyday, but I wanna do that because I want you. I want all of you, forever. You and me. Everyday.”
