The About Healthcare Professionals

Honestly, all of my thoughts regarding health service professionals are positive ones. From my perspective, health service professionals do their best when it comes to trying to have a major impact on individuals’ lives. Getting into the health service industry is not an easy decision, but the people that decide to go this route for their career love and enjoy trying to make a difference in customers and patients lives. If their main mission in life is to help people, then getting involved in this particular industry is a great choice.

Personally, I applaud the ones who have such a passion for choosing this career path whether it is working in a hospital, dentist office, clinic, etc. In our textbook  it talks about how dentists are responsible for diagnosing and treating dental problems pertaining to teeth, gums, and any tissues of the mouth and I feel that the work they do, has a significant impact because it is not an easy job to be successful in.

Are we confusing consumers? In health services, I do not believe that we are confusing consumers. “However” in the United States, I’m still trying to understand some of the ways we may eventually be able to improve the way out system is run. In our country, there are so many people who can’t even afford any health services at all. From my perspective, this is something that also needs to be fixed especially for hardworking individuals and families. I do not believe that anyone should be having to struggle so much just to get the necessary health services provided to them.

In the Commonwealth Fund Article, it discusses how the Affordable Care Act (ACA) created a Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation, and it’s used for the purpose of both developing and testing for improving quality of care that had been provided to Medicare beneficiaries. I believe that the centers the Affordable Care Act has invented has made a difference for Medicare and innovating Medicaid.

What are your thoughts about HIPPA, GINA, Medicare Reform, and Underinsurance? Hippa known as (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) is a United States legislation that has the ability to provide data privacy and security provisions for safeguarding medical information. I like that this law was created and it’s a good thing that it was. Having created this law is significant because it prohibits others such as hackers from gaining valuable information by stealing it. Privacy is key, so it makes a huge impact because it has the ability to protect your data from being stolen.

This particular act known as (GINA) The Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act was established back in the year 2008. It is a significant action because it can successfully protect the American people from facing discrimination primarily based off of their genetic information in health insurance which is classified under (Title I) and employment which is based under (Title II). I think that it was smart to establish an act of this magnitude. Nobody should be discriminated against just because of their genetic information no matter what situation they are in. I believe that Medicare Reform has an impact on so many people. “Why” shouldn’t we have Medicare Reform! There have been new models recently established by the U.S.

Department of Health and Human Services for the primary purpose of increasing Medicare payments which valued up to 85 percent in 2016 and even 90 percent in 2018. It is said that the new Medicare payment policy, referred to as the potential of value-based payment could in-fact improve care for those who are beneficiaries, achieve savings, and also strategies for accelerating. In terms of underinsurance, I see numerous problems with it’s involved in. From my perspective, this is a problem that seems to still be occurring to this day. One chart indicates how twenty-three percent of adults ended up being underinsured in 2014. It’s important to address which four states had the highest underinsured rates. Adults who were located in Florida and Texas had been underinsured at a significantly higher rate than those who lived in California and New York.
