Sports Are An Important Part of Students' Health and Wellness

Could you imagine a world of not that many kids going to college? Not a lot of healthy and happy kids? Well we can’t. Without Sports, not a lot of kids would be happy or healthy. In the articles “The Costly Obsession” by Eli Sega||,”Want to Succeed in Business ?“ by Michael Casey and “Be Active” it states why schools should not eliminate sports. Schools should not eliminate sports because it keeps kids off the streets/drugs and helps them get better health benefits , it helps them prosper in the future and it also helps them build confidence/leadership/life building skills.

Firstly, Schools should not eliminate sports because it keeps kids off the streets/drugs and helps them get better health benefits. In article #3 “Be Active” paragraph 4 shows that a study in “pediatric and adolescent medicine” reported that students who regularly plays sports were less likely to use drugs.

Other surveys also show that students who platform sports were less likely to smoke or do yearly drugs and they also disapprove of others using them.

Playing sports have decreased obesity in our nation’s youth and lower body mass among athletes improves with sports playing, Athletes have lower rates of diabetes and high blood pressure. They also have better 1cardiovascular and 2pulmonary function. Secondly, Schools should not eliminate sports because it helps them prosper in the future. In the article “Want to Succeed in Business” paragraph 1 it states Two new studies found that participation in high school sports help children develop skills such as leadership skills, worked better in teams, and had more confidence which give them an advantage as they enter the work world and helps them achieve success for years to come.
