My Dream Destination - If I Could Afford Anything I Wanted

Topics: Traveling

When I was a child. I often dreamt about being able to afford anything I wanted. Money, even play money at the time was just so much fun to me. I wanted to use that money to buy anything I wanted, especially Barbie’s and Bratz dolls, and travel all over the world. Coming from a lower class family, not all of that could be achieved. I lived well, but traveling and taking trips to places especially out of the country was extremely rare.

If I had all of the money and time I needed to take a dream vacation, I would explore some of the most beautiful cities and countries in the world.

My Dream Trip to Paris

I began to get things ready for my trip to Paris France. I started with purchasing my own private jet. After looking around, I decide to go ahead and purchase the 2012 Bombardier Global 5000 jet from Boutsen Aviation located in Los Angeles, California.

It promises to “deliver unmatched performance, comfort and reliability with features and benefits” (Aviation) and provided the sleek, shiny design that I admire in a jet. It had more than enough room and amenities to comfortably suit my needs. I was the highest bidder for the jet bidding 50,000,000. A tricky part was finding a pilot for my trip who could fly the exact style jet I owned. I emailed a man located in Valencia, California close to where I purchased the jet who had “23,000 total hours” (Find a Pilot) experience flying my particular jet and was willing to relocate wherever I needed him too.

Thankfully, I did not need to obtain a visa to travel to Paris or France, and would be granted a 90-day passport limit for the countries.

My vacation began in the beautiful city of Paris, France. It is one of the beauty and fashion capitals of the world, and “appreciated for the opportunities it offers for business and commerce, for study, for culture, and for entertainment” (Daul). Prior to the trip I reserved rooms at the Hotel de Crillon in Paris for five nights totaling in four- thousand six hundred ninety-two United States dollars. This hotel has raving five star reviews and has even won over 10 awards because of its beauty and service. It is described as a mix of “vintage glamour and architectural elements with modern amenities and technology, guest rooms and suites embody Parisian residential style” (Hotel De Crillon) and offers a salon, a spa, a fitness center and even an indoor pool. After settling I decided to have the lady at the front desk book a driving service for me to take to the many events I planned to attend. My first stop was shopping at the Carrousel Du Louvre where we shopped and then ate from their large food court that “offered 13 gourmet food stalls with delicacies from around the world, including French, Moroccan, Japanese, or Mexican” (All About The Carrousel). Visiting the Louvre art museum is something that I knew I wanted to do because I wanted to visit the place where Beyoncé recently shot her music video “Apeshit”. I purchased the tickets online prior to the visit so that we would be guaranteed entry into the museum within thirty minutes. The Louvre is the world’s most visited museum and it is not hard to see why. It displays beautiful pieces of art that spans “several thousands of years and a territory that extends from America to the confines of Asia” (Hours) including pieces such as the Mona Lisa by Leonardo De Vinci and the Venus De Milo.

Going to Disneyland

It has always been a dream of mine to go to Disneyland. Everything about it just screamed fairytale and magic and beauty and everything Disney embodies all in one theme park. However, it was never something my family could go too. I decided to go ahead and visit the theme park in Paris and finally live out my dream. With “over fifty attractions that offer magical experiences and exciting adventures for the young and old” (Disneyland Park), it is a place where everyone can enjoy. I purchased the Fastpass ticket for all the attractions that gave me speedy access to every attraction at the Disney Park for Ninety-four dollars without waiting in a long line. I went to Big Thunder Mountain where I boarded a train that took me “deep in the heart of a legendary mountain for a thrilling journey of dips and sharp turns” (Disneyland Park). I also went on more thrill rides such as the star wars hyperspace mountain, Pirates of the Caribbean ride, as well the Indiana Jones roller coaster. I also visited the Disney store and Constellations shop to pick up souvenirs during my trip.

Attending a a Moulin Rouge Show

The next activity I wanted to experience on this Paris trip is a Moulin Rouge show. The Moulin Rouge is an iconic cabaret theater that “first opened its doors in 1889 as a music hall” (Moulin Rouge) by Joseph Oller and Charles Zidler. It used to have sort of a negative reputation because vulgar men would come to the shows only to gape at the women, but now has “gained a reputation as an exclusive, typically Parisian extravaganza” (Moulin Rouge). Today it has a more refined upper class clientele that come to the show and is filled with such elegance. It is also where the can-can was born so I thought I would love to experience this show while here in Paris. I purchased tickets online at the Cabaret Paris website. The tickets included a Moulin Rouge and a Paris at night tour with a travel guide. It provided transportation and I also was able to avoid any lines with this ticket and went right into the show all for one hundred and eighty European dollars. I got to see a magnificent show and be wined and dined with lavish food and also got too see Paris with all of its lights shining at night.

Exploring Paris on one’s own is fun but I could not help but feel like I needed someone to share this with. I could not help but wonder if I could find a French boyfriend and have him show me around Paris. I do not know where it would be that I found him but I know that if I were to find a “Paris lover” I would have him teach me French while we explore the city together. We would discover covered passageways “browse antique and secondhand bookshops in Passage Verdeau” (Williams), and stroll hand in hand down the Canal Saint Martin, a canal “lined with one-hundred-year-old chestnuts and spanned by elegant footbridges” (All our cruises). It is a traditional place of romance in the city of Paris and is beautiful in the daytime and nighttime. I feel that will be the perfect place to fall in love.

Going to the Eiffel Tower

The last and final thing I wanted to do in Paris is go to the Eiffel tower. I knew I could not leave Paris without experiencing the Eiffel tower. I wanted to just be in the presence of it and admire its beauty and art. It is such a monumental experience that “it welcomes almost 7 million visitors a year” (Tour Eiffel). I plan on taking pictures in front of the tower and then getting to explore the inside of the Eiffel tower and see all of the art and beauty. The Eiffel “is the stage for numerous events of international significance” (Tour Eiffel). It has light shows, including the Year 2000 pyrotechnic show, a garden, gift shops, restaurants and even an ice rink. I bought tickets for the 58 Tour Eiffel restaurant online at Expedia.com that again allowed my French friend and I to skip the line and enjoy dinner on the first floor of the Eiffel tower. After eating I explored some of the Eiffel tower shops such as the Daniel Mercier and even stopped at the Macaroon Bar on the second floor for authentic French macaroons.

Paris is just a city that is so magical and beautiful in every way. There is so much to do and see and everything screams magic and just has an aura to it that one is not able to find anywhere else. From the fashion to the lights that illuminate the city, to the shops and even the food, Paris, France is just and indescribable city to go to and one that will never be forgotten. That is why it is my dream destination and a place that I would attend if I had an unlimited amount of money to afford it. There is just no other city like Paris, France.
