The way they built their city with such beauty and perfection. How they worshiped the gods was such an important part of their culture. The way they became successful by the means of their own people was such an inspiration. As with other great things in life they eventually didn’t exist anymore. Today, we think of them as savages but do we really understand what they went through or what they did to survive.
The Aztecs built their buildings which great knowledge and ambition.
They first began by anchoring big pieces of wood into the ground. Then they would use mud and water along with volcanic rock to secure the foundation. They expanded their small land into an astounding city. Everything was so precise and well structured. “They produced structures breathtaking in beauty and power.”, docufans1. “In Search of History – The Aztec Empire.” YouTube, YouTube, 15 June 2011, www.youtube.com/watch?v=tP2HHYQjN7E. All of the craftsmanship put into their buildings was remarkable including their paintings.
They would use canoes to carry materials across the lake. And they even built their own alphabet with pictures that defined their language. It would have been such an amazing experience to be able to see how they created such a great city in 200 years.
They worshiped the gods like no other. The Aztec priests were mainly the ones to commit the human sacrifices. “Aztecs were destined to maintain the cosmos. They would make offerings to the gods. They thought that the human heart was by far the most precious thing in a human sacrifice.
It was believed that the death by sacrifice was more honorable than those of battle.” docufans1. “In Search of History – The Aztec Empire.” YouTube, YouTube, 15 June 2011, www.youtube.com/watch?v=tP2HHYQjN7E. Sacrifices were meant to keep the cycle of life going. They would burn human victims for the gods to partake in the sacrifice and they built large temples for the gods. The sacrifices were made to honor many gods and by doing them they believed that it was possible for them to maintain the balance.
They even had people who would make the headdresses. They used them for the ritual dances to worship the gods. They danced to honor their gods and praise them. Every costume was different for every ceremony that they had. They had drums, whistles, and flutes that helped them create the music. “To be there and witness such beautiful man-made objects along with witnessing these religious ceremonies would have been an amazing experience.” Their religion was an everyday routine, it was one of their main focuses.
Overall I find beauty and creativeness in the way their city was built. I, myself am very fond of arts and think that I would have loved to live during a period in time. Even tho there are some minor misconceptions, I would have liked to experience it. Something so different but the begging and end to something great. Culture is so profound and unique. Their culture consisted of dances, rituals, and art.
I would have preferred to live in the time of the Aztec culture.. (2021, Dec 03). Retrieved from https://paperap.com/i-would-have-preferred-to-live-in-the-time-of-the-aztec-culture/
