Once again the conquest for power has begun. The “blame game” is at its peak and political heavy weights are busy hatching conspiracies and intrigues against each other. Prophesying what will happen next is even more difficult. The opposition wants to topple the government and those in power are trying hard to find constitutional loopholes just to prolong their tenure. The leaders have become power mongers and we are at a point where we have to choose between bad and worse.
Our country has become a laboratory for different kinds of political experiments and despite knowing these facts we are unable to do anything. Yes, it’s 100% true that Nepal would have been something different if we had a visionary leadership. Perhaps our lives too would have become much easier but since we do not have one right now, we ourselves need to take a step forward. If you still believe that you are an ordinary person and your cannot make a difference then that means you have not yet found out that extra-ordinary in you.
Just give yourself a break and look deep within yourself and you will find out why you are so special. After all ,everyone is born with a different crown.
We have already learnt the laws of reflection now it’s time that we learn reflecting upon our own selves to find out who we are and what contribution we can make to help Nepal become even better. Blaming each other and criticizing our leaders is not going to make our lives easier and neither will the chit-chat at the local tea shop help.
Leaders lead but at the end it is the people who deliver. Things will change once we decide to change them and unless we convert the walls between us into bridges and strengthen our national integrity we are not going to prosper.
Fighting amongst ourselves will bring no good; it will just create larger spaces for foreign intervention and true nationalism is not only about chanting slogans. Delivering our best in whatever we do and standing for each other is something that will make us true patriots and I feel that it is the best thing we can do as a Nepali. It is not necessary that to bring a change we need to join politics. You can be a part of it as a writer, as a player or through any other professions. We can make a difference and if we live up to our words, the day is not far when we all will be together bringing a change, the change we have been aspiring for.
Change first begins with us and in our minds and attitude is something that really matters. The choice is ours whether to waste our precious lives complaining or to give it a purpose by empowering each other. We all will be judged in future and whatever we do today will determine the nation’s tomorrow. We can and we will .Let us all take an oath and start our jobs right from today.
