“Go The Extra Mile, To Have It Make Some Difference That You Have Lived At All”

Topics: Blood Donation

One might wonder what made me quote this. It motivates me to go “that” extra mile. It has now certainly reached a critical juncture when I have to desire where to turn and what to do next. Whenever I pause by to reflect on my ken of knowledge, I feel how little I have learned and that an enormous, unknown and fascinating wealth of knowledge lies before me, yet to be explored.

You see me in my most virile moment when you see me doing what I do.

When I am directing, a special energy comes upon me. It is only when I am doing my work that I feel truly alive. Electrical and Electronics in their applications and technology was always an unanswered question for me. As I grew older, the questions were answered but at the same time, many new questions with more complexity started haunting me. This search for the answers aroused a passion for Computer Science and started exploring the developments and their applications in electronics but that did not quench my thirst for knowledge.

Then I could understand only a graduate education can offer me a great deal of intellectual and personal satisfaction and challenge. This is the main reason to plan my master’s in Computer Science. This would give me the leading edge in technology and the practical low-down information I require. For this, research would be of prime importance with hands-on experience in real-time applications accompanied by in-depth knowledge of the subject. Technology today means power in the widest sense of the term and not merely the power of the mind.

In addition, this power potential has given it the status it now enjoys.

I remember my school days vividly, it gives me a thrill when I assess the person I am today and the boy I was in those days. I did my schooling at Saint Alphonsus High School located in the Nalgonda district in an idyllic atmosphere where I gradually flourished as a versatile person. As the school plays a stepping-stone in every child’s life, the atmosphere around it encouraged me to do some other extracurricular activities other than academics; it helped an extrovert child and me to become better. This encouragement and involvement helped me to have an open and positive attitude in life.

Starting from the very beginning of my life I knew I have to be somebody someday, somebody who has an identity of his own. However, things were not clear in those days what exactly I wanted to do and what I wanted to be. I just wanted to do something, which interests me, thrills me, and gives me the means to earn an honorable livelihood for myself and my family. I wanted to fulfill all my mother’s wishes. I happened to be a good student in those school days, ranking amongst the first few in the class. The first sense of achievement came when I stood in the top 10 in the Secondary Examination (10th SSC) with 89%. I worked even harder thereafter and I finally managed to stand top 5 in the Higher Secondary Examination (10+2 Intermediate) with an aggregate of 94.9%.

Then, I made my way easier to get into Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Bharat Institute of Engineering and Technology affiliated with one of the best-ranked universities in India, JNTU. The first two years of undergraduate education were based on the fundamentals of all engineering subjects. The next two years were a detailed study of electrical and electronics subjects. In those four years of my education, I gained an in-depth understanding of the various techniques involved in problem-solving, mainly to cater to the services of the industries. However, all the years of my under graduation were based on theories and I feel it is just not enough for developing full-fledged applications. They call for an extensive study of various underlying concepts and principles. I have always believed that a subject is understood better when one sees an abstract theory being realized by a practical system. Therefore, I felt Graduation is the area where I can put my ideas into implementation.

During my graduate study at University of Missouri Kansas-city, I was exposed to various courses with applications like Electromagnetic field, Control systems, Power electronic, Electrical measurements, Linear Integrated Circuits, Pulse and digital circuits, Computer methods in power system control, Digital Signal Processing, Power systems, Electromechanics, Microprocessors & Microcontrollers, High voltage engineering, designing of power system components, Utilization of electrical energy which enhanced my subject. I was awestruck by the inexhaustible applications of computer sciences in Electronics in all aspects of the study, more so by how it revolutionized the world.

My thought was changed and I became passionate about computer programming rather than core electrical. During my graduate studies, the opportunity to meet people with similar interests and potential shaped me considerably. Right from the second year, my kind of preparation to learn the computer programming languages to gain knowledge and subject in depth rather than just getting marks though I was able to put up good marks on board. My uncle being a software developer added to my further inspiration to define my career goals. Over the past three years, I have developed an interest in the areas of Computer Programming and I tried to gain more knowledge in these to be able to face the competition, I kept myself abreast with the latest technologies.

In this ever-changing world of Engineering and Technology, where each new day sees a spate of new concepts and applications and each passing day makes them obsolete, I want to attain the highest level of education and transcend new horizons in the chosen field. The vast application potential and tremendous scope for a high career in Computer Science Engineering always fascinated me and I am keen to continue my academic pursuit in this field.

Apart from Academics, I indulge myself in several recreational and co-curricular activities. I have taken part in many JAM Sessions, Group discussions, and Extempore. I have also engaged myself in philanthropist activities like Blood Donation camps, Health camps, and Awareness programs. These activities have led to the development of a multifaceted personality and have equipped me with strong interpersonal skills. This helps me to lead, as well as follow the leader when working as a team.

Now at this junction of my career, I am confident that when I make the transition into a master’s program in Computer Science, I will be building on a strong foundation gained in the past years.

My enthusiasms constitute my reserves, my unexploited resources, and perhaps my future. My resolve to study at your university in the field of interest in Computer Science Engineering got strengthened when I found that my aspirations match the interests and research work undertaken here. Not only is the course best suited for my research goals, but also the campus promises to provide the perfect environment where I can hone my creative faculties. I am aware of the high standards of academic excellence and path-breaking research that your University has set. It will be a privilege and a milestone in my academic career to be part of such a prestigious institution.

If admitted to your university, I will use the opportunity to the best of my ability. I would make use of the research centers extensively. I am confident that I will be able to live up to your benchmarks and make a significant contribution to the betterment of society overall.
