When I think about the person who has made a difference in my life, the first person who comes to mind is my daughter. It didn’t take long for me to realize you were going to make such a big difference in my life. Getting to experience and watch a tiny little human grow inside of me was a beautiful yet emotional journey. It had its ups and downs. My daughter, Ke’Launi, has made me a better person by teaching me patience, recognizing my strengths, and motivating me to improve myself.
Motherhood has taught me many life lessons, and I wouldn’t change it for the world.
I gave birth to a gorgeous baby girl on November 26, 2017, my life changed instantly. My daughter has brought so much joy to my life. My daughter has taught me a thing or two about patience and some days your patience will be tested. Motherhood has taught me to be patient as your child will grow and learn new things.
It has taught me flexibility and that plans change constantly. She has taught me how to be patient, kind, and understanding in many ways I wasn’t before. She has taught me patience is a virtue.
The last several months I have learned many things and my perception of things have been altered. Strength has been one of many things that has kept me going. True strengths are sometimes silent and steady. Some days I don’t often feel strong. Ultimately, I sometimes wonder if I accomplished anything at all, but I do more than I think I do.
My daughter has taught me to be strong and be generous. I’ve definitely learned I’m way more determined than I ever thought I could be. I’m strong because I have accepted the fact that I can’t do it all, but I can do the best that I can.
My daughter, Ke’Launi, has taught me to constantly set goals for myself and step out of my comfort zone. To become a better person, mainly for the benefit of my child. I would be her first role model. I became working full-time, twelve to fourteen hours a day and attending school while taking care of my daughter and our home. I have made many mistakes in my life, so I am pretty amazed at how becoming a mother has influenced me to work towards my goals. When all is said and done, the most important thing is to take care of yourself, your responsibilities, and know what you want from life.
In conclusion, when I think about the person who has made a difference in my life I think about my daughter. Becoming a mother has definitely been life’s greatest gift. My daughter, Ke’Launi has showed me what it’s like to unconditionally love someone. I love that you always bring out the best in me. I love how I would do anything in this world to make you happy. Giving birth to you made me want to be a better person. You taught me patience, strength, and gave me self-motivation all in one. I would not change motherhood for nothing in this world.
