Why I Love Games and Coding

Ever since I was little, I have always loved games, especially video games so when I was 10 years old and saw an Xbox One under the Christmas tree I was ecstatic. Since then I have been playing games with friends online at every chance I can get. For the last few years, I have been playing, learning, and experiencing the best games of the decade. While playing games like Minecraft and Destiny I always thought it was amazing to see the vast scenery and cool backgrounds.

My dream is to develop and create the biggest, coolest, and most creative game the world has ever seen.

My favorite games

Personally, my favorite games are ones that have deep lore and a large community. When a game has deep, detailed, and interesting stories behind it I feel like every encounter and every step forward in the game means something. For a while, I wondered how they made their games so beautiful, and when I found out that if I learned how to code I could make games like that I decided that when I grow up, I would learn to master code.

Although if I can’t make a game of my own I would love to work for a major game company and develop a fun game for others to play. Some games have a large community behind them and due to that, it’s easy to meet new friends from all over the world, work together and to do amazing things that you can’t do alone.

Some games even have eSports with competitions and large prizes in the community. Pro players get the community excited and bring people together. Another thing that I have been looking into is getting an internship at a company to create relationships with developers and other people who could help me throughout my career and to get a better idea of what it is like to be on a team and be making or updating a game. Learning how to code and use programs like Alice and c++ is also something that intrigues me, and when I learned how to use properties and functions to create amateur games and creations I can’t help but think about ways to improve. This summer I will be getting another part-time job and hopefully do some online coding courses.

Games and coding in my life

In conclusion games and coding are now a part of my life and all that’s left to do is to prepare. And the best ways to prepare are to practice every day and learn as much as I can. Hopefully by getting an internship at a large, experienced company where I can learn from professionals, or from a school where the best is brought out of me one day I will achieve my dreams.
