The Starlight Tears Response

To me this story is like a fairy tale it is simple, yet interests the reader with its common ideas. In the world that Talon lives, there are the Kind beings of the Light and the Evil creatures of the Dark. This relates to the common opinion that good is represented by light and evil is represented by darkness. In the world of Light are the creatures and gods. There are separate creatures for different parts of nature, and a god rules each group of creatures.

In the world of Darkness are the Miniatures, evli creatures that capture and kill the good. I think this story shows the characteristics of a myth because it explains things about nature. It also refers death to be a quick, insignificant thing.

Mostly, this story contains explanations messengers throw sun stones to wake the sun and the sky is woven from magical threads by caretakers. Rain and tears created the stars of the night I believe that these indirect and direct references to nature are important aspects of myth, I feel many different things from this story.

Parts of it remind me of a far away utopia. Everything seems to be perfect and in order. Nothing is complicated and even one does what he or she was specifically created to do. The sun shines brightly, the clouds are whit, and the sky is always blue. It is a typical and magical idealistic world. More in realty, the story also attempts to show that nothing can always be perfect.

Caretakers create the sky and so the sky is not always the same. Nothing is ever always the same perfect blue. In this case, I think that the color blue would represent happiness and perfection in a world of hate. This is the same for the sun if, one morning, the messengers with the sunstones happened to forget to wake the sun, there would be no sunlight that day. The story tries to show that nothing can ever be absolutely perfect I also feel sadness. Why is it that the beings of the Light world did not notice when both Sara and Talon were missing? I believe that many things in our life are this way. Often, we find ourselves forgetting about others that may not seem so important.

This is emphasized in the story by telling the reader how the small caretakers are disregarded. I believe that the caretakers size is a significant symbol for those that are considered unimportant in the world. This story is very simple. There are the Light and Dark worlds, and Good beings versus the Bad creatures. They are caretakers and gods. If this tale was anything other than a myth, it might not contain enough detail. But I think that all myths are this way, they all have a basic topic that rises to one simple climax. The stories do not contain any twists or turns to confuse the readeri Star Light Tears is an accurate example to show how simple myths really are, I believe that when short and simple mythical stories are compiled.

They create the key to a culture of 5 imaginative and detailed perspective on life, Star Light Tears contains little violence and hate compared to other myths. I think that this is due to the fact that we live in a society where warfare is not considered a respectful thing. In the past, power over others showed that a person was worth respect. I feel that it was this thought that inspired the violent Greek, Roman, and Norse myths. Particularly the norse myths contain much violence, about war and revenge. What might have been the Norsemen 5 opinion on the concept of war as they wrote their Stories of Violence and revenge? As I continued my study of mythology, I realize how myths greatly reflect the culture from which they were created. Yet, what is the significance of Star Light Tears?

Today, our world is run by politics and logic, Only the strongest dream can survive and only the strongest people reach their goals. The idea of the world is that one must earn his or her position, and no one bothers to outwardly defy this idea. In Star Light Tears, no one notices the little caretakers and messengers that created the stars, Talon may be the equivalent of a rebellious person against the ideas of the world, but the gods are the stronger people. Those who are engrossed in their own rituals of life and oblivious to what things go wrong for the smaller people. I think that stars show how someone small, like Talon, can create important things for all people yet still he is not fully acknowledged. The fact that the stars were created on accident may also be significant because it shows how Talon s mere existence affected everyone else 3 lives.

People such as I may always have opinions on the topic of myths. Why were they written? For what purpose? I believe that the best thing about a myth is that it can become what the reader wishes it to become for his or her own selves. I do not believe that a myth can ever cause negative within anyone who wants it to be a positive person each myths holds new meaning about life for every new reader. They contain thoughts feeling, and opinions helping us pay attention to what we might find in ourselves and encouraging us to relate upon our own lives as we read about others. Myths help us reflect upon simple concepts in life that we may otherwise over look.
