Their culture comes from many different factors such as they maintain a very friendly family atmosphere in the company, encourage teamwork, pay attention to details and quality, and continuous learning and innovation, also, employees, distributors, and retail customers are urged to contribute ideas on how to improve Dirt Bikes products and services.
Dirt Bikes has many forms, including racing specifically for different size bikes, for short distances, long distances, and for up to six days. They offer four different models of bikes: the Enduro 250, the Enduro 550, the Moto 300, and the Moto 450.
Enduros are for endurance racers, while the Motos are for motocross racing. All four models are very modern, with technologies like, both of kick and electric starters, steering stabilizers, and liquid cooling. They also sell parts and provide repair services for customers.
Dirt Bikes does not directly sell its products to their customers. They use a network made up of 40 distributors mainly located in the Midwest and western United States. Also there is a small percentage sold in Europe using independent distributors who sell other brands of dirt bikes and motorcycles.
They also heavily promote their business at racing events.
Dirt Bikes is privately owned with Carl Schmidt as CEO and Steven McFadden as president and Chief Operating Officer. In addition to the marketing manager. There are 120 employees work in design, engineering and production, including 3 full-time product designers and 3 engineers, 4 persons in parts department, 10 persons in service department to service warranties and customer problems. 5 employees work in shipping and receiving department, 5 sales representatives. The corporate administrative staff consists of a controller, one accountant, two HR staff members, 3 secretaries, and IT specialists.
There are no clear management levels as the company’s atmosphere is a friendly family one; only that Carl and Steven are the heads of the company.
The kinds of information technologies that would be the most efficient and useful for Dirt Bikes, is something to track their sales and prices, for example, to be able to track exactly how many of each bike they sell so they will be able to tell which ones are the most selling and which one needs to be improved. Also it may be useful to them to have an employees system to track every employee work so they will be able to do the payroll accurately. Also a TPS system for the inventory would be useful, as they will be able to know which parts are running low in the inventory.
