Communication is a social process based on openness sharing and participation. Communication starts with the sender who is the initiator of the message. After generating an idea the sender encodes it in a way that can be comprehended by the receiver. It must encourage and utilize user-created content. Good communication is a result of deliberate actions and intentions of the senior team.

Any good communication plan should include feedback. An audience will likely give you feedback as soon as it’s seen or heard your message. This might include verbal or nonverbal reactions.

The process of communication comes with roadblocks, which are termed as barriers to communication. There are many types of barriers; the physical/environmental barriers, psychological barriers, technological barriers, cultural barriers, organizational barriers, etc. There are three types of physical barriers that prevent individuals from effective communication: Environment, Distance, and Medium. The ideal communication is face-to-face. To facilitate this, companies adopt “open office” plans that substitute cubicles and corner offices for open tables and shared conference rooms. As teams disperse across the globe, email tends to become a top form of communication.
Collaboration tools like Video conferencing, Facetime, Skype etc. continue to improve each year, and as a result, they have become a tremendous asset in organizations. In my situation a good example of physical barrier is making connection with peers and professors. Distance education or online education is a delivery system where the teacher and the student are separated by physical distance and time. This is mitigated by using alternative media resources when students and instructors have difficulties of establishing face-to-face communication. We use e-mails, discussion boards, and instruction video etc. to bridge gap. The leaders and other senior professionals of this business era; put more emphasis on the business nitty-gritties. While hiring a manager good communication skills are considered to be the most imperative skills a manager must have.
For an effective manager it is obligatory to ensure persuasion, responsibility, premeditated association, creating and managing value system and to provide support and motivation to his teams. A manager is capable to accomplish all this by effective leading, sound planning, monitoring and communicating. Among these perfect and precise communication is of utmost importance. It is a manager’s communication skills which motivate and inspire teammates to work hard and achieve team targets and organizational goals as well. I have volunteered my time at an elementary school for six months. I was able to connect well with kids using my superior communication skills. I used both verbal and non-verbal forms of communication to connect with students. I effectively managed children and met schools goals.
