In my opinion, I believe that Utilitarianism is the best out of the moral theories, The improved version of the Rule Utilitarianism, by John Mill, sounds like the most practical and reasonable option of moral theory to appeal to most people. Of course, it won‘t be perfect and everyone will not participate, but I felt like the Rule version uses the rules of society to shape your morals. This type of society would most likely become a Utopian society, which would be tough to enforce With this moral theory, society would set their own rules up based on how it would do the most good for people of the society.
I feel like for most people that is the most practical, because most people agree on what is bad, as in harmful for others, and what is good.
For the worst theory I chose Anti-realism. Reading about the approaches to anti realism, it came off as the most selfish form of moral thinking and reasoning Most of the approaches look at yourself for making the decisions I think this is very selfish way of thinking, because as a species we are a very social and cultured species.
We didn’t entirely get to the civilization that we live in today because we thought about ourselves, We made families and worked together in groups and friends. If society were to operate as only looking out for themselves, there wouldn’t be much progress or advancement in morality or society This could possibly prevent discussion, dialogue, and critical thinking, because everyone else’s actions and thoughts wouldn‘t matter to you.
