Abortion History Information

Topics: Women'S Rights

It contains both perspectives from the proponent and the opponent of the issue. The article provides a wide range of the problem such as public opinion, two parties’ attitude in the United States, when did the problem begin and also the abortion laws. This article gives me the information to talk about the background of this issue and how the attitude of people has changed over time.

The authors used data from a series of surveys by the CBS News/New York Times to show a different pattern of the public opinion and see the trend of the answer when people are asked about restrictions on abortion and asked if abortion should be legal under a series of circumstance.

This article stated that Americans tend to have differing opinions concerning abortions. The authors used the demographic variables, political variables, and religious variable to explain the state differences in abortion attitude. For example, California is more pro-choice because they are less religious than Texas.

Moreover, the political debate within state provides unique state political culture which can influence attitude toward the specific issue. I am going to include this in my research paper. It offered me the information on how American attitude change based on different circumstances. And there are more aspects of abortion, not only moral matter.

The article talked about the anti-abortion laws in the United States. Even though the United States supreme court judged to allow abortion laws, each state still has a different attitude toward the issue and makes a restriction to make it more difficult for people.

This article focused on the subject that came along the debates. This paper will give me an idea of what arguments anti-abortion activists used such as fetuses experience pain. I think it could help me support or defend my position in the future, depends on my position).

The writer provides in-depth information about the history and culture of abortion which makes me understand the issue better. It includes the example case concerned the right of a woman seeking an abortion and how the United States court handled the cases. The case is called Roe v. Wade. This is the good sources to start my research, especially in project one where I have to look for the root of the problem and how abortion used to be.

In summary of this article, they talked about the two main sides of the issue which are pro-life and pro-choice. It explains the reason of how both sides think and the policy of each side. What I like about this article is that there is some question that was asked in articles; question that each policy from both sides has to deal with. For example, in the article, stated that ‘Does the pro-life movement mean that it is pro-life for fetuses and anti-life for mother?’. This kind of question helps me think and boarder my ideas. Moreover, this article is not biased because it presents the issues and viewpoints from both sides. This source could be useful because it gave me some points when I am going to need to defend myself in my paper. It will be useful information if I need to reference what and how each side thinks and It will also be a good argument for both side of the issue concerning pro-life or pro-choice.

The author analyzed the issue from a pro-choice perspective. The article talked about the essential factor that affected how pro-choice believer thinks and flashback to the pro-choice movement since the 1970s. They said that it all started when people feel that abortion was related to women right. Moreover, the idea of pro-choice had been influenced by many factors. For example, cultural (the American culture which is called ‘expressive individualism’) and also the decline of religious values of American (belief in science, logic, and reason more). The article is to some extends bias because it is only focused on pro-choice viewpoint and their right to choose. But I think I can use this article in my research paper to talk about pro-choice explain what factor got them to this point.

In summary of this article, it gave information about factors affecting women viewpoint toward abortion policies. Each part of the article describes different element such as abortion laws, cultural norms, religious belief and the role of media in shaping. What I like about this article is that it does provide not only content in the United States but also other regions in the world. It shows that women‘s access to abortion differs from place to place. I think this is going to be useful in my paper when I need to talk about how other parts of the world thinks of abortion.

In summary of “Should Doctors Support Restrictions on Anti-Abortion Protests?”, it talked about the feeling of the doctor toward abortion. The author mentioned a case when people who wАorked in the abortion care faced with protesters outside the clinic and also the laws about buffer zones that protect the particular area from violence. I think doctor plays an important role in this issue. Even though the article is focused on the United Kingdom not the United States but I think it is going to be useful to show what doctor think of.
