I come from China which is a country located in the Asian continent. China is an extremely populous country with diverse traditions, customs and modernism that are all influenced by its ethnic composition and its geographical location. I love the diversity in my country since it makes us a unique group of people due to our contribution to the world economy. I often take time to learn about the different cultures in my country since they all have an impact on the success of my country.
According to the Asian society, there are other 1 billion residents in China alone who are comprised of 56 minority groups. The ethnic group with the highest representation is Han Chinese with more than 900 million members. People from the various ethnic groups create their culture hence there are different cultures practiced in China. Culture mainly consists of food, religion, style of living, music, language and marriage.
These factors collectively determine how certain people in china interact and behave.
I love our culinary experience since it is among the most daring cuisines around the world. I personally appreciate food that has been part of our ancestors’ diet which is rice. Besides the different cultures, china is especially known for communism. This means that all the cultures have to find a neutral point in order to correlate. For that reason, the Chinese communist party that currently rules in China is atheist and does not support any religious believes from the different cultures. In China, there are 5 major religions which are Islam, Catholicism, Protestantism, Taoism and Buddhism which has the most followers.
Any other religion besides this is regarded as illegal in China as much as the constitution gives the people freedom of religion, There are seven major languages in China under the Chinese language but have various variations. I practice Mandarin which is the largest dialects spoken in my country.
Other dialects include Wu, Yue, Xiang, Min, Hakka and Gan. Our official language is Futonghua which is also a type of Mandarin. However, this does not mean that other languages such as French, German, Spanish and English are not spoken in china. As a matter of fact there is a large population of Chinese people who are fluent in English and other western languages Our cuisine is also one of the best in the world and includes various types of foods from different people across the country. Rice is the staple food in China that also played a major role in uplifting the society Finally we are a people inspired by culture and mythical histories which explains why we have a renowned history of art and sculpturing. Besides written art, we have practiced martial arts such as Kung Fu over the years which is a piece that many other countries have copied and made a sport
