My own response to the performance and the music:

I was never an extraordinary admirer of Rachmaninoff, until I found his chamber work, particularly the cello sonata in g minor and this trio. Completely glorious music. Completely clear! Superbly comprehended! No dead focuses! The reasoning of the writer emerges great! Enthusiastic, convincing, propelled and natural.

My response to the substance of the performance and the music:

The performances of the two trios are somewhat less friendly than those of the Trio, yet the restriction can be telling, as in the grave coda of the Second Trio. It surely doesn’t block dim force. This work is thrown in just a single development, as opposed to most piano trios, which have three or four. This development is in the traditional type of a sonata, however the article is based on twelve scenes that are symmetrically spoken to in the reiteration. The elegiac topic is displayed in the initial segment Lento lugubre by the piano. In the accompanying parts, the epitaph is exhibited by the cello and violin, while the soul is always advancing. The subject is eventually recast as a memorial service walk.
