Gang violence has been threatening the progression of our society due to the fear that has been put into everyone’s eyes. In Salinas CA now in days whenever people hear the police car sirens, the first thought that comes into their mind is someone got shot. Gang violence is not just an issue in Salinas; gang violence is known to be an issue all over the world. Gang violence seems to be increasing all over the world throughout the years, and it’s becoming a major issue.
Many people agree that innocent live get taken due to terror and violence that gangs bring to our society.One of my intensions is to make the world a safer place to live in, without people having to worry about the gang violence that happens around us. Stopping the violence would be a great step of living in a gang free society. There are a lot of social problems going on with gangs in our society now in days.
Most of the gang violence now in days involves mostly young victims. The lives of young people are being put in danger because most gangs recruit young people as members. The younger members are the ones being sent to kill each other just to gain respect by the older people in the gangs, and the gain reputation in the gang too.Innocent’s people’s house get shot at because of the gangs trying to kill a gang member, and sometimes they end up killing an innocent person.

Growing by the year, US gangs boast about 1 million members and are responsible for up to %80 of crimes across the country, a new federal report says (Oliver). Homicides in Salinas CA, have doubled in two consecutive years, and now stand over four times the national average (Wikipedia). There are many methods to solve the gang violence issue, but the right steps and methods need to be taken.There have been many solutions, but so little of them have affective to our society. The police men have the orders to take down the gang members whenever they feel threaten. Talking to gangs about retaliation and how that would worsen the situation, or even cause a death to one of your own family member later on life. Retaliations bring more shootings, which mean more deaths around the society. There have been organizations about people that have been in gangs in the past, and their personal experience from all the violence. Organizations have been set up, which give the kids to speak out about their experiences.Some of the organizations are Know Barriers Violence Prevention Program, New Direction for Youth, and A Place Called Home (Street Gangs). Kids don’t like showing weakness in front of their peers, by asking adults for help, and that’s why these programs didn’t help. I have a solution for this problem it might be simple, yet complicated at the same time. My solution is to send the entire known gang member to Antarctica, so they can fight for whatever it is they believe in and there will be no way out. All the people who claim to be gang members will be sent to Antarctica to fight there without hurting innocent people.The gang members will receive all the necessary equipment they need, but they have no way out. By doing that it will drastically bring down the gang related homicides and crimes. The street will be safer because there won’t be gang violence around the society, and it will also bring people out from the fear they are living. There will be no more gangs, and the society will be safer. Apart from that less money is going to be spent on prisons because there is going to be fewer inmates, since they are going to be sent to Antarctica.More money is going to be spent on schools, since there will be less money spent on prison and inmates. The youth will progress in our society by seeing what’s happening to the gang members, they wouldn’t be in their place. The most important thing is that the world would be a safer place without gangs.
