Preparing for a loved one to go into a nursing home is a difficult decision to make. I decided to research my aunt because she is the closest to me other than my mom. My aunt diagnosed with dementia, and currently has diabetes. Coping with her condition, medical bills, and life activities are becoming a hindrance to her lifestyle. I currently live in Columbia, South Carolina. I research three nursing facilities in the area near me, which are Heartland of Columbia Rehabilitation & Nursing Center, Presbyterian Home of South Carolina, and NHC Lexington.

Heartland of Columbia Rehabilitation & Nursing Center rated above average on patient satisfaction and health inspections. The building is equipped with 132 certified beds and participates usually have Medicare and Medicaid insurance.

The facility design is created on providing an optimum functionality to help people return home or to a lower level of care. During the duration of care and rehabilitation, patients enjoy the use of state-of-the-art, modality-based rehabilitation equipment.

The center is designed to provide the finest in daily living and personal care in warm, comfortable surroundings. The Lexington location provides a range of services that offered for patients such as multi-disciplinary medical team this service is to help patients that must use extended medical services. After researching nursing home facilities, I thought NHC Lexington is the best overall. There services and dedication to patient’s care is extremely helpful especial for my aunt. Comparing the other nursing facilities, I wasn’t impressed with the amount of services that were provided. NHC Lexington is more thorough than the others and provides the amount of care that is beneficial for my aunt situation.
