This project will focus on increasing the efficiency of a solar panel module by implementing a GPS receiver to track the position of the sun which in return gives the ability to produce more power than other tracking devices employing light sensing diodes or gases. The diodes and gases used in these other methods are not produced cleanly and are also fragile and more sensitive.

The growing demand for renewable energy is seen worldwide and systems that auto track the sun will allow increased sunlight exposure as well as amplify the production of energy. The physics of the PV cell is very similar to the classic p-n junction diode. The use of solar energy is through photovoltaic conversion, the PV cell converts the sunlight directly into DC current by the PV effect. A PV panel is a packaged interconnected assembly of PV cells.
