I was reading Slaughterhouse—Five and it got me to start thinking about whether or not we are all unstuck in time or if the things that happen to us really happen in chronological order.
In the book, the main character experiences a multitude of life events that occur at the same time and they don’t occur one after anothe. The book jumps around from scene to scene and he goes from being a child to an optometrist to a war prisoner to a so called “mad man’i As of now, I would say that we go through our life in chronological order because that is the way I see it and I go through each day one by one and things seem to happen in chronological order.
That is the main reason why I would maintain my belief that life happens in Chronological order, but in the book, they also discuss how Earthlings can only see in three dimensions, while other creatures who live on different planets can see in four dimensions, which would mean that they can see all of their life events at the same time.
Another thing that I think about is “Are humans REALLY the most advanced species out there or is there a more advanced species out there?” Numerous scientists claim that there is a more intelligent life form out there on another planet and we just haven’t discovered it yet, but I’m not sure if I believe that I say this because I believe that if they were that intelligent, they would have already made a trip to Earth and we would have already been familiar with there.
A counterargument for that, however, would be the possibility that the other life form is already on Earth and because we don’t have vision if four dimensions, we can‘t see them or identify them.
Is there a more intelligent life out there? I often wonder if the discovery of the Fourth dimension would be something spectacular because we would be able to see things that we never saw before and most likely be able to solve a lot of the issues that our world is currently dealing with. I also believe that the fourth dimension would change our way of thinking and allow us to truly enjoy the good times in life and ignore the bad ones because of the simple fact that we can’t stop them from happening. With the Fourth dimension, people are able to see how life pans out and what happens, or is happening I believe that the Fourth dimension would allow people to realize just how special the good moments we have in life are and not focus on the negative ones because the moments have already happened I believe that the concept of being unstuck in time would benefit the world‘s social wellbeing and cause us to get along better with one another.
