The Relevance of the World's Views on Sin and the Issues in Dante's Inferno

Dante’s Inferno and his story of the trip through hell are very relevant to the world’s Views on sins. There are many issues in The Divine Comedy that are as significant today as they were when Dante wrote. Although some views the story talks about are not common to everyone, such views are still here in current-day society. Even in today’s world, many people go through a journey just like the one Dante describes the same sins worthy of hell in Dante’s time are still considered sins in our life today Dante’s Inferno is clear on its relation to life today.

Dante loses his way in the dark forest on his path to truth.

“Midway along the journey of our life I woke to find myself in a dark wood, for I had wandered off from the straight path”. This line relates to life by representing being confused with yourself and going on a journey with in themselves to figure out who they are and to overcome fears one have.

Dante had Virgil, a person that guides him on his journey of life, which is like having a best friend there for you through all of your problems and conflicts of everyday life, Dante’s expedition is one in which he faced and described as what he perceived to be the sins of the world.

In Dante‘s mind, man was the ultimate leader of his own fate. He alone was responsible for the outcome of his life from beginning to end, and it was he that had to accept the consequences of his choices Dante relates to us in this way by being the controller of your own life‘.
