Topics: Teaching

At the first time someone came to another country they must to adapt with that country, Everything must be change and difficult such as language, daily conversation, culture. As long as, newcomers pass their first year, it will be a little bit easier. They will have experience when live in that country. I had a lot of teacher are American but I never ask them how hard to teach in Vietnam with a new country, where they teaching. I saw that and I can guess they have to face with hard things.

The first hard thing is different language. When the teacher want to explain for students more specific but no one cannot understand cause they did not know anything about English. That is a big problem for Westerners, who come to teach in Vietnam Some of the Vietnamese student shy to speak up, they worry about everyone laughing them when they say something wrong At the first time, they cannot speak English they will use body language, use dictionary when have conversation or they use “Vietlish”.

When they speak that it is not correct grammar, but they make the teacher can understand what they asking about When studying students in Vietnam would like their teacher go around the class and some student do not understand what you said they can ask you with their little voice. With that question that teacher can answer for all students. New place to live and teaching out of country student of any country will different.

The teacher can be headache by students in Vietnam. They really noise when they meet each otherr They will talk with each other a lot at first meet of the day, break and when finished the school or they can run around in class and talk with their best friend if their best friend sitting far from them. If discuss about that student you must to find out the way to penalty with the, They can talk to each otherr That is cannot focus on study, they make noise and the person cannot study any more.

They always talk in class even when you call them to answer you something and they cannot say anything for sure, That is a reason why in Vietnam each of the class have head teacher. They keep contact with student‘s parents and the head teacher with give their class a map of the seat, If you want to complain anything about that student you should told with that teacher about that student. Next thing that teacher must to know when they want to call someone Can feel confuse when you want call that student. In American call someone by last name and Mr, or Ms. But in Vietnam we have same last name a lot For example, that person last name is Nguyen. When they call Mr. Nguyen, Ms. Nguyen it is make them confusing when try to discuss someone. That is why they will call by their last name, In Vietnam we use another word to call each other. It is depends on age, we use different word use for older, younger or same age.

The last thing in about in Vietnam that teacher should know is misunderstanding One word it is not one meaning. It is had a lot of meaning, teacher speak that word but that student will understand in another meaning. This will cause misunderstanding. Good if they asked teaching. In Vietnam 80% they will not asked teacher if they do not understand, If they ask teacher of that meaning it would not misunderstand. However, when someone want to teach in another country they have to face with trouble. They need more time to adapt with it. When come to another country everything has changed. In short, teach in another country not really easy, they must to learn a lot. They have to adapt with students in Vietnam, conversation between them and word when you speak. It is like a new world around, where they are teaching in another country
