School life in that period was more difficult than today because the facilities were inadequate. The teachers were stricter, and corporal punishment was still being used. The education system had few subjects, and it was characterized by racism, wealth discrimination, and sexism. Simple time and age characterized the 19505 prompts. The world had just finished World War II, and people were more patriotic because the future appeared bright.
