You are More Than What You Come From

Topics: Family

The primary role of a functioning family is to procreate and help children overtime learn to socialize and become healthy functioning members of society (Smith, S. R., & Hamon, R. R. 2017). Families are given to you and families are created; it is ultimately the decision of those members to stay together and continue to be a family unit. Other elements can contribute to how people interact with one another and how they develop socially and economically.

Child development is an interactive process, and its development is an intriguing one.

Every child is uniquely different in their interactions, just like fingerprints every child is different. Even if there are siblings two children, who grew up in the same household, and with the same parents still possess different life developments, challenges, and accomplishments. These developments will play a role in how that child perceives life, and the world around them. What children learn and see from others in their environment can also shape how they develop, think, and behave.

Different cultures can look to outside resources in their environment neighbors, friends, family, and loved ones to assist them in the upbringing of their children similar to the concept that it takes a village to raise a child that no one has to face child rearing on their own (Hillary Clinton).

These first experiences of socialization come from the family unit. There are numerous resources out there available to assist parents in facilitating their children’s development, but what happens to children whose parents are as involved to download reports and read books on development.

Children are a product of their environment, no matter where they go or what they do in life they will always have that life experience and those memories, but they will have their opportunity to build their self-expectations.

Theory

Children are a product of their environment, no matter where they go or what they do in life they will always have early life experience and those memories, but they will have their opportunity to build their self-expectations. Ideally, some children may look at their environment and want something more, something better. Their childhood may be one that they can’t wait to put in the past; however, many may experience similar problems or familiar family dynamics, and some may not. While these children are products of their environment, they are also the product of expectation. Expectations to excel or exceptions to fail and in many families like mine, there were no expectations. Physical surroundings and environmental components around the individual can influence their behavior (Cherry, K. 2018).

A child’s journey to becoming a better person in life begins with conceptualizing who they truly are at their core. It concerns the need to grow more in tune with their deeper self so they can understand what riles them up, excites or bores their interests. By appreciating to deal with their emotions and anger controls, children grow up in a societally acceptable channel. It becomes easy for them to create meaningful interactions with their peers, acknowledge and appreciate ethnic diversity. These interactions are essential for personal growth regime and maintenance of meaningful inter- and intra-personal relations. As denoted, all these values are essentially cultivated by the environment children thrives and the quality of upbringing they are entitled to.

Quality family units push one to build and establish their strengths and crush the thread of bad behavior. As so, a child assesses his/her negative qualities, sectors they excel in, and the specific areas they need to rectify for personal growth and development. How a society is structured makes children understand themselves better, their capacity level, and uphold why it essential to create a conscious effort that improves their personality and enable them to better communicate with people around them. Children must acknowledge that antagonism and aggression eat away happiness by clouding their mind. By cultivating such virtues as forgiveness, one is empowered to let go of painful moments life ever gave you (Cherry, 2018). It makes one learn to release resentment and aggression, which would otherwise be an enemy of progress. Instilling such valuable qualities in children goes a long way in their journey of development.

A family that teaches children to let go of negative thoughts enhances emotional healing and gives one the amount of peace they desire to overcome depression, rage, and anxiety issues that nurture conflicts within and being human relationships. Festering wrath influences the physical and mental health stability of a child, with symptoms like a weakened immune system, sleeping and heart disease. All these problems are enemies of progress as they limit one from achieving their full potentiality. Cultivating positive life values allows people to blend with others easily. Pleasant people readily create connections even with strangers, which can be a stepping stone to a better and more progressed life (Smith & Hamon, 2017).

Children are a product of society. A significant element in growing up as a person with a desire to become a better individual is by learning to accept personal responsibility for actions, failures, behaviors, and emotions. Any entity that one has control over. Being respectful of other individual’s opinions is a golden rule if one aspires to become better. Basically, it relates to every other point on the list. By listening to people and treating them with good manners, one can easily connect to important life avenues through positive networking. All of these are significant elements of respect. It is majorly about acknowledging one’s differences in a more cordial way. These are life values that are molded in children, so they turn out to be people that even society respects as they acknowledge the importance of cordial relationships with other people regardless of the underlying factors.

People become better especially when they learn to be respectful of other individual’s opinions, lifestyles, ideas, and experiences. By giving out respect, people acknowledge others and understand the significance of handling others with integrity. This does not basically mean that one has to flatter and agree with opinions presented by others; instead, they can learn to disagree respectfully. Clearly, whoever treated other people with the level of dignity they desire sets a good example of what you expect of them in return. This is called a positive growth curve.

Parents need to set limits and be consistent with the level of discipline they subject their children upon. Discipline is essential in each household. As such, the goal of discipline is to allow every child to learn the importance of self-control and acceptable behaviors. Children who conform to the teachings and directions of a parent exhibit positive life skills that are essential to their growth and development regime. Children test the limits established by their parents, but they require these limits to develop into more responsible adults (Donnellan, Conger, & Burzette, 2007). Creating house standards allows children to understand parental expectations, cultivate high self-control, and learn the importance of positive living. Being consistent in teachings as a parent or a society molds a child into responsible entities. Parenting is a manageable job especially when one yearns to have a morally upright child.

Teens tend to look more to their peers and less to their parents for role models. As such, families should have a routine that continually guides children, appropriate discipline, guidance and counseling sessions, encouragement on appropriate life values while allowing the children to earn more independence. Children grow in a way that they seize every available opportunity to make a connection. The value of a family determines how best a child can relate with people in the outside world and their level of productivity. It helps children overcome difficulties with learning, feeding, behavior, and sleeping (Johnson, Mcgue & Krueger, 2005). It also equips them with relevant life skills that they require to establish healthy relationships on their own. That is why it is important for families to focus on the quality of relationships they have with their children and brainstorm on better ways of improving them (Cherry, 2018). The quality of parenting forms the base on how their children will develop, relate with people in the outside world, gain connections, and be able to accommodate the changes that life brings. It is as simple as that. Therefore, how a family brings up their children determines whether or not they will grow into societally acceptable children that can bring change to family or the society at large.

With the need to make the most of one’s life and career path, children who were properly brought up learn to challenge themselves. They understand that it is impossible to fulfill a fraction of the life goals by choosing to be secure and comfortable as where security is cultivated, there is no pushing force to rise and become better. The values families instill in children still go a long way to force the rise to the occasion and maximize their full potential. Good upbringing molds children to face life with oomph. By challenging themselves to pursue such goals that stretch their life achievements, there is an assurance that this force will set out one to achieve their career goals. Morality and discipline remain life propellers that mold a person to become more productive.

Moreover, quality upbringing makes children grow into thoughtful adults. Here, they are cultured to treat every person they interact with, with a high sense of value and dignity. By making other people feel significant even in their career paths, they will be motivated to maintain that feeling. Thoughtfulness is considerably a high-level quality of enhancing emotional intelligence across a person’s life exchanges. In this regard, as one treats colleagues with respect and openness, he/she is exposed to a variety of life opportunities that can change their current life status quo. They possess a calm power to stay rational as they present their communications with regards to building their career life. Building and embracing life values enables a person to form interactions in such a way that they gain exposure to better life opportunities, career jobs, and working relationships that build their financial value. In such a case, one is capable of taking care of their selves and their families at large.
