With the start of a new year comes a new show season for the theatre world. This years season at the Broward center contains a series of new musicals, revivals, and tony nominees and winners. The first show of the season is “Phantom of the Opera” played October 10th-21st, 2018. The show was written by Andrew Lloyd Webber as an adaptation of the french novel “Le Fantôme de l’Opéra” and is 1988 is the longest-running Broadway show of all time and a cult classic show.

The story is based on a fictionalized version of Anna Leonowens’s actual experience tutoring the king of Siams many wives and children that was published in the novel “Anna and the king of siam”. The musical brings this story to life with gorgeous costumes, breathtaking sets, and musical classics such as “Getting to know you.” and “whistle a happy tune.” etc. etc.

The next show of the season being played on December 18th, 2018-January 20th, 2019 is undoubtedly one of the most popular show on this list.

Years later under her new identity as the Orphan “Anya” she meets two con men try to use her likeness to the grand duchess in order to collect a reward for finding her. The show come to broadway in 2017 “A Bronx Tale” played June 11th-23rd, 2019. A new show inspired by the classic film and book by Chazz Palminteri of the same name, Tells the tale of a boy Who struggles between building a relationship with the mobster who initiates him into their way of life, and the relationship with his noble father. The Musical is co-directed by Robert DeNiro, the director of the original film, and Jerry Zaks, The original director of the play rendition of the show.
