The Theme of Equality Between Two Contrasting Races in the Movie Remember the Titans

What would it probably be like to live during the time of segregation in the place of an African American? The movie “Remembering the Titans” displayed very frightening examples of the effects of attempting to have two very contrasting races live together with equality. It was like making magnets stick together perfectly. Throughout the movie, many acts of discrimination that lead to numerous issues in the high school’s football team are emphasized.

The movie shows how the team has bonded through the segregation in the community and how they succeeded.

An effort to improve the coordination of the team is shown in Coach Boone. Coach Boone shows heroic characteristics throughout the movie because he is a good leader, a passionate man, and a truthful human being, which leads to the intertwinement between the various races of the community.

Throughout the movie “Remembering the Titans,” Coach Broad symbolized a good lead, when he was asked to be the head coach of the football team for the Titans, which was his call for adventure, he accepted.

When he noticed that the team had no coordination he made his first goal to bring them together. When he woke up the players at three o’clock and made them jog through a forest to the cemetery of the people who lost their lives in the Battle of Gettysburg, this resembles him being a good leader. He learned about the weaknesses and strengths of his teammates and worked on making them perfect. Once the teammates woke up (at five in the morning) he would make them practice day and night to train them into excellence.
