The various factors, which account for the difference in male anatomy as compared to that of female anatomy is the sex hormones, the personal meaning of human sexuality, and the personality psychology pertaining sexuality. These factors contribute to the difference that occurs in males and females anatomy. According to Craig, “females should be taught about their anatomy early in their life, to get used to their anatomy (Hill 28).” The implications of the lack of early knowledge on later sexuality are that one becomes shy of her or his organs when they are mentioned.
The person also involved lacks self-confidence of explaining their anatomy in case they are not feeling well. These make one to grow without the confidence of even explaining to the health physician how he or she feels. For example, in the case of females where they cannot mention wherever they have a problem with their vulva. At age five is the point where the child should be taught about human anatomy.
These will help the child to grow understanding the differences in anatomy between masculinity and femininity. The child will grow with confidence since they understand their anatomy well.
Most of the adolescents lacks pride during the development of various body organs. These are because the adolescents do not have confidence that the various body changes are necessary since they lack advice from their families and other people. They do not partake the changes as normal and, therefore, they tend to be afraid seeing like everyone’s eyes is on them.
The family and other people have impacts on adolescents since sometimes they even laugh at them. Craig says, “adolescents should be allowed to know that those changes are normal, and they should welcome them rather than being shy (Hill 277)”.
The aspect of gender should be made clear to the adolescents early so that they become aware of the body changes that they will expect. The family and other people in the community should give advice to the adolescents and let them know that it is normal for such changes. The girl should know that it is right for their breast to enlarge and grow hair at pubic and armpits. The boys should be given advice about breaking of their voice and hair at the armpit and pubic part. These makes the adolescents be part of the changes that takes place and with confidence that whatever changes are necessary for human sexuality.
The individuals I know who may be classified as unassured and competent are the gays, for sexually driven and adventurous are heterosexuals, and for idealistic are the hermaphrodites. The formation of various sexual identity is due to the sexual nature of self, lack of early advice, and the environment that one grew in. These contributes towards an individual either accepting or denying their sexuality where they develop feelings for people of their same sex type.
Craig shows the importance of advice, “adolescents should be given advice to realize the functioning of various organs and how they are helpful for sexuality (Hill 401).” The reason for gays lesbians having competent or unassured sexual identities is because they failed to recognize the human sexuality at early stages, hence, developing feelings for people of their own type. These may be contributed by the fact that they grew where homosexuality was the norm, and no one advised them that they should engage in sex with people of the opposite gender. Lesbianism and the issue of gay mainly start from the mind where those individuals have feelings of people of the same gender.
