Introduction

Upon researching the best Spanish ensued nation to tour, Spain became the most suitable direction as my intention to visit. Spain, a land with plentiful history and culture, where art is much admired by the people and backed by the government.

This benefit unlike anyplace else presents the immense insight of practices, society, language, architecture, and locations and other exotic experiences. This benefit unlike anyplace else presents the immense insight of practices, society, language, architecture, and locations and other exotic experiences. I’m ready to be astonished by walking down the sites such as Magic Fountains in Montju?c, Las Ramblas Avenue, Basilica of La Sagrada Familia in Barcelona and Puerta De Alcal? Gate, Royal Palace, Buen Retiro Park in Madrid.

This blend of modern and traditional experiences will present me to a magnificent venture in Spain.

Madrid

Buen Retiro Park

Buen Retiro park which incorporates up to 125 hectares and comprises more than 15,000 trees is a pre-eminent place amongst those who like to stroll, play any games, visit an exhibit or take the children to a puppet play. (Esmadrid, 2019). There is an artificial lake in the park where the visitor can enjoy boating and be amazed by the numerous marvelous figures and fountains. (Esmadrid, 2019). Because there are rental bikes available, I would fancy enjoying the weather by having a picnic there and riding the bike to breathe the fresh air of the park.

Royal Place

I want to acknowledge the most fascinating royal residence i.e. Royal Palace built for King Carl Johan in Neo-Classical style; however, it was not completed until after his demise. (Royalcourt, 2012). It took 25 years to construct this dazzling royal residence with 2800 rooms, including the throne room and the hall of mirrors. (Royalcourt, 2007).

The principle motivation behind why I want to visit the majestic Royal Palace is because I need to recognize the exceptional art made in the palace as I can get a look from the photos of the banquet hall, it’s astounding. Furthermore, it will supply me with a glimpse of how the imperial family used to reside there. Moreover, I would love to see The Palace Park, one of the Norwegian capital’s first and biggest parks, encompasses the Royal Palace on all sides and highlights green zones just as old, magnificent trees. (Royalcourt, 2015). The Palace Park was grown at the same time with the development of the current Palace and depends on the ideal representation of the environment that won in European agriculture in the mid-1800s. (Royalcourt, 2015).

Plaza Mayor Square

The Plaza Mayor square, a significant public space in the heart of Madrid, was at one time the focal point of Old Madrid and was implicit (1580–1619) during the Habsburg time of Philip III’s rule. (Plaza Mayor, 2019). Square Mayor is rectangular fit as a fiddle and has ten entrances including a bronze statue of King Philip III in the midst of the square, formed in 1616 by Jean Boulogne and Pietro Tacca. (Plaza Mayor, 2019). This consistent architecture is for the people of Madrid and visitors to shop, saunter throughout, taste food, and appreciate the surroundings. Plus, it is the area facilitating bullfights and soccer matches, yearly Christmas display, and each Sunday also on occasions, it hosts stamp gathering and coin collecting market in the mornings. (Plaza Mayor, 2019). Since I am an avid foodie, I would love to try authentic cuisine at well-known eateries close to Plaza Mayor. Additionally, I couldn’t consider anything more comforting than to have a beverage at an open-air bar.

Puerta De Alcal Gate

The 19.5 meters high gate has five arches with exquisite statues at the peak built by sculpture masters Francisco Guti?rrez and Roberto Michel rendering attributes such as prudence, justice, restraint, and courage. (Zaino, 2017). During ancient times, the aforementioned gate was utilized as a seasonal migration of the livestock (the herd of sheep) and in honor of this custom, Trashumancia Festival is celebrated. (Zaino, 2017).”During the Spanish Civil War, the door was repeatedly hit by bullets and bomb shrapnel, and the damage can still be seen on the door today.”(Zaino, 2017, para 06). The motive why I desire to visit this site is that it resembles India Gate, one of the monuments I cherish from where I belong, India.

Barcelona

Picasso Museum

Museu Picasso holds the vast accumulations of artworks by Spanish artist Pablo Picasso. “With 4,251 works exhibited by the painter, it opened to the public on 9 March 1963, becoming the first museum dedicated to Picasso’s work and the only one created during the artist’s lifetime.” (Museu Picasso,2019, para 01). The historical center reveals Picasso’s relationship with Barcelona, a connection that was formed in his childhood and pre-adulthood and proceeded until his demise. (Museu Picasso,2019). I was constantly intrigued by Picasso’s fine art and watching and reviewing his artwork and studies would resemble a dream come true for me.

Barcelona Cathedral

Barcelona Cathedral recognized as the Cathedral of the Holy Cross and Saint Eulalia is a pseudo-basilica, vaulted with more than five walkways and the external partitioned into chapels. (Barcelona Cathedral, 2019, para 01). The basilica is committed to Eulalia of Barcelona, a young virgin who suffered martyrdom during Roman times in the city.” One story says that she was exposed naked in the public square and a miraculous snowfall in mid-spring covered her nudity. The enraged Romans put her into a barrel with knives stuck into it and rolled it down a street. The body of Saint Eulalia is entombed in the cathedral’s crypt.”(Barcelona Cathedral, 2019, para 03). I’m looking forward to seeing this eccentric design of the cathedral makes me wonder how strange it is built and be astonished by the faith people have for this place. (Barcelona Cathedral,2019).

Las Ramblas avenue

It is a tree-lined pedestrian street notable for human statues, kiosks selling papers and flowers, road brokers, performers, and sidewalk bistros and bars, fountains that are a prevalent gathering point.(La Rambla, 2019, para 01).”Las Ramblas is often the first landmark that most tourists identify with the city. It is a large boulevard that runs through the heart of the city center.”(Las Ramblas in Barcelona, n.d.). I would choose to have a night street food experience once while watching its people’s nighttime living.

Magic Fountains in Montjuc

The magic fountain designed by Carles Buigas is a striking array of color, light, motion, music and water acrobatics. Its first performance was on May 19, 1929, during the Great Universal Exhibition. (Magic Fountain of Montjuc, n.d.).My last day in Spain would end with a great smile when I can see this sumptuous presentation with colors of joy. Even though it’s just a fountain but the vibe of such a crowd gathering together to see a flawless show is just breathtaking.

Conclusion

I hope this travel experience would be exceptionally perfect as it would not only allow me to get exposed to cultural side of Spain but modern side as well. I believe this voyage experience would be exceptionally whole as it would not only let me get exposed to the historical side of Spain but the contemporary side as well. Even though the trip is only based in Madrid and Barcelona, I think I would unquestionably come back for more adventure. The places I’m anticipating seeing the most are the Magic Fountain and Las Ramblas avenue.
