In his life, the individual encounters many stressful situations that include unwanted experiences and events that may involve many sources of tension, risk factors, and threats in all areas of life, and thus the individual may experience excessive stress. Exposure to continuous stresses in life and going through a difficult experience may have an impact on human physical and mental health, and thus cause many diseases that are difficult to cure, such as depression, anxiety, in addition, it may lead to promote some unhealthy behavior like smoking, excessive alcohol consumption, and drug abuse.

For many, overcoming psychological stress and controlling negative emotions may require more time, especially as life is full of endless challenges. While some manage to get through this stage quickly, others fail to exit the stage of depression and the individual may make inappropriate decisions.

So, in other words, stress is a description of the condition we are going through when we are under psychological, mental, and physical pressure, although it is normal for us to go through these cases from time to time, some people who go through these cases excessively than usual or for a long time may cause them to have some health problems.

Psychological stress may occur due to the daily responsibilities that we are experiencing, or due to sudden events for us, such as trauma, war, displacement, illness, or any other reason that we cannot bear. The body deals with stressors by secreting a hormone known as a stress hormone or ‘adrenaline’, which increases blood pressure, heart rates, and raises blood sugar levels, all of these changes help the body deal more forcefully and more quickly to escape from the perceived threat.

People who experience prolonged and focused periods of stress can cause gastrointestinal problems, fertility or urination problems, or a weakened immune system, in addition to other diseases such as sleep disorders, common cold, and headache. While the immune system contains a group of defensive substances that protect the human body from infection, this device can be weakened if the person does not avoid the lifestyle that leads to this. Health experts advise avoiding laziness, lack of physical activities, and excessive thinking are factors that weaken the immune system, making it easier for the body to get infections and diseases.

Psychological stress can be caused by many factors, but generally by psychological and social problems that affect the brain which sends orders and instructions to all parts of the body to do the adjustment, and appropriate control of the type and severity of the problem causing, and the symptoms that appear can also vary among people, it may include but not limited to: headache, difficulty digestion, muscle pain, insomnia, Frustration, loss of focus, increased smoking, and sometimes resort to eating more food, then bad complications occur. The group of defensive substances in the immune system repels attacks of viruses and bacteria on the body, chiefly liver viruses, anemia and infections of various degrees, and sitting the whole day is one of the most important reasons that can weaken the immune system when you don’t practice some exercise, as lack of movement leads to make the body not able to absorb a wide range of beneficial nutrients that strengthen the immune system. Moreover, stress negatively affects production in work and creativity in life.

People can vary in their way of managing their stress and the way they deal with stressful situations, a person might simply leave the place of tension, go for a walk, talk to close friend, avoid people who make them stressed and angry, or even praying and meditating can have a significant role in dealing with stress. Theses mentioned strategies are known as ‘coping skills strategies’ or as ‘stress management’ where the person deals with the stress in a way that has fewer effects on the physical as well as mental health.
