Cybersecurity is an attempt by individuals to protect their personal information and other digital assets from attacks from malicious people in the Internet. It is an important factor to be considered if one is to be able to protect oneself from malicious people and software from the Internet. Most of the threats to computer networks come from the Internet and are often intentional, having been developed by people with malicious intent.

There exist different types of threats, and these can be considered by a variety of level and risk levels to an individual’s personal information in their computers. Cybersecurity in the US is threatening the safety of the people, the economy, and the government. The higher the attack inflicted, the more advanced the security system that is to be put in place to ensure that the threat is minimized.

In this era, cybersecurity has rarely been found in action to protect the United States. Americans don’t know the how much they are being affected by the poor security the US is giving them, socially, economically, and politically. Cyber attack in the US is threatening the safety of the people, the economy, and the government.People will want privacy in their lives so they can be secure in what they say or do. Americans do not benefit from the liberty of freedom of speech since the government pulls personal information without consent.

The government is breaking the law by advancing its technology to take away these rights without people noticing.

We may not be too sure if the government is just ‘spying’ on their people but the more we find out, the Americans notice are becoming more aware of the lack in security.

Furthermore, most Americans don’t know the inner workings of the black-market, which is easy way for the hackers to make easy profit and malevolent acts. The data hackers steal ends up on a network of illegal trading sites where they buy and sell large amounts of personal data for profit.”(Bertrand Natasha, Business Insider) Americans that aren’t used to the technology, such as computers and smart phones don’t understand when they put information, documents, pictures, anything in to their computers or any device; it can be taken away and be sold for money. Even when you post something without any information, you can still be tracked no matter how secure you think you are. This black market is even a place where anyone, including teens, can purchase anything from drugs, guns, and duplicate credit cards that is the same from an original and money can be stored in them.

This money that are in the credit cards can be stolen from businesses and people, which could affect the stock market and companies economic standards. This black market is a dangerous place to be in, very easy to get in by using TOR the acronym for “The Onion Router”, a software that enables you to use anonymous communication. This will allow you to go into this dark web without being traced easily. Once you’re in, there is no way to escape as your information could be tracked by a hacker that knows its way in the cyber web and can take your identity and valuables in your computer. You have to constantly watch over yourself on the computer and make sure your information and background are protected by any harms way that comes to you. In addition, now that cyber attacks have grown more noticeable by the way that Russia was able to affect the 2016 American presidential election between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton.

Including by how Hillary Clintons emails were exposed also by the Russians, as Baker Peter claims “The sanctions targeted the same three Russian organizations and 13 individual indicated by Mr. Muller for an audacious operation spreading disinformation and propaganda to disrupt American democracy and, eventually, promote Mr. Trump.” This event became consequential as it created many conflicts in America. Just by the act of the Russians invaded the voting counts can cause big misconceptions and fights in America by just one person’s malicious act. Sanger, The New York Times) Being able to control other countries’ elections and control systems of power means they just show they have control of the country no matter what they do. This even shows the US security system is extremely weak and very hackable.

The US doesn’t upgrade their systems of security and maintain the same weak one that can be broken into without any hesitation. On the contrary, there are people that don’t believe in Cyberattacks, and no matter what people that know how to program will know how to hack. They will test their hacking skills by attacking the innocents first before they start something greater. People only fear of home burglary, car stolen, getting murdered, and more real life situations that can really end someone life instantly. Programming is a dangerous thing to do if you’re doing something other than making games and creating apps. But being able to control a human life machines, computers, and other electronics is another level. But not all people are the same and there are people that will want to help people to protect their information. We still need people working in the cyber security field and if we have none working there, we might as well just share our information to everyone.

In conclusion, Cyber attack in the US is threatening the safety of the people, the economy, and the government. People may still think they are still safe in the government hands with a weak, penetrable security that they still maintain, which caused a disturbance in the presidential elections. Also, the hidden black market in the dark web that could possibly have all your information and accounts, where hackers can sell them for investment and even control your life. Along with the governments secrecies they hide from the American people, of listening to their conversations and tracking everything you do through any social media and web searches. We need a better security for the US since every technology is advancing by time. We need to find cybersecurity as it is rarely found. It needs an upgrade to a better system of protection for the people, the economy and the government.
