The Many Stages of Water Essay

The constant movement of water is the water cycle. Water goes through many stages. It evaporates, condenses, and precipitates. If you leave a cup of water in a hot and sunny area, by the end of the day some of the water will be gone. Where did it go? It went through the process of evaporation. Evaporation is the process that gradually changes water from a liquid to a water vapor (gas). Water vapor or gas rises through earth’s atmosphere, cooling as it rises. The sky then gets cloudy and dark as a reaction. Water then condenses. During the process of condensation the water changes back into a liquid form as the vapor cools. Water vapor turns into tiny water droplets. These water droplets combine together a multiple amount of times until they can no longer stay in the clouds. Then drops of water fall to earth as precipitation. Precipitation occurs when water droplets fall to earth from clouds. Examples of precipitation are rain, snow, hail, and sleet. This process that occurs daily is known as the water cycle. The water cycle is the constant movement of water. This water is essential to all life on earth. The amount of water recycled through the water cycle is provided to plant and crops on earth.
