Revealing the Mockingbirds Paper

Originated from the book ‘To Kill A Mockingbird,’ created by Harper Lee, a mockingbird would be described as an innocent person who’s appearance is destroyed by evil. In this book, In this book, the mockingbirds in the story are Boo Radley, Tom Robinson, and Jeremy Finch. Boo Radley was a man who has never left his house, but yet horrible stories were made out of him. Tom Robinson was accused of raping Mayella Ewell, when all he did was help her with her chores. Jeremy Finch was a very troubled boy, but thought the book, Jem matures when he is forced to see how the world really is. ‘To Kill A Mockingbird’ demonstrates how these characters show their innocence as they are challenged by the evils of Maycomb Country.

Arthur Radley, also known as “Boo Radley” was known as a creepy man. Boo was known this way because of the fictional stories that were made up of him. So everyone would immediately recognize that Boo is a guilty and vile person when he is actually an innocent, kind and thoughtful man. People are persuaded by these tales of Boo Radley so much that they see past his noble side and see only the dangerous side of him. “Boo Radley was about six-and-a-half feet tall, judging from his tracks; he dined on raw squirrels and any cats he can catch, that’s why his hands are bloodstained-if you ate an animal raw, you could never wash the blood off. There was a long jagged scar that ran across his face; what teeth he had were yellow and rotten; his eyes popped, and he drooled most of the time,” Jem would describe Boo from what he has heard (ch.1, pg. 65). This quote proves the point that people in the community start up many rumours about Arthur Radley. To Maycomb Country, he is portrayed as a vicious, creepy and violent human being.
