Movie Review – Life of Pi Essay
Directed by Ang Lee, and written by Yann Martel, “Life of Pi,” is an inspiring movie. Starring Suraj and Richard Parker as the main characters. Gratifying animations earned 609 million dollars worldwide due to the film remarkable illustration also won best original score golden globe. “The Life of Pi,” teaches through loss and survival one can learn that life has its inner workings and spirituality accept them as undeniable facts; people in general can use this movie as guidance through life’s catastrophes.
According to Jim Rohm, “Learning is the beginning of wealth. Learning is the beginning of health. Learning is the beginning of spirituality. Searching and learning is where the miracle process all begins.” In the terms of spirituality we all are touched in different ways, whether it is life lessons, family or nature. “Life of Pi,” combines all three of these fine points within its storyline. The story revolves around a boy who questions many of life’s facts and within an instant he loses everything he held dearly.
To begin the boy’s journey, he takes a trip across a vast ocean with his family where a sudden storm strikes and causes the ship they were on to go down instantly. The boy loses his family, his riches, and most of all everything he held close to his heart. The part where this boy loses everything spoke to me very deeply because it showed that no matter how good life is we can always lose something precious. The boy soon learned to be thankful for everything that was sending his way. The young boy learned how to be humble and appreciative because not everything is guaranteed especially family.
Life can be very challenging and to find peace within these times can be very hard as well. In the film, “Life of Pi,” the boy becomes stranded on a life raft as a result of the boat he was traveling on sinking.
