Discrimination against blondes. Unlawful, unprovoked, unfair, so understandably I’m not very happy…Alot of people, when they look at blondes, will immediately assume “she’s blondes, she must be dumb.” Yes, for some blondes, that claim is unfortunately the truth. But we’re not all completely brainless! We have admirable, inspirational and achievable plans for ourselves! But thanks to the prejudice in today’s society, blondes cannot be taken seriously! Not at all! That’s why I am going to take a stand on this issue and put up a fight for innocent and intelligent blondes everywhere!
If i was to approach you, yes YOU, and ask who you think would have a higher IQ out of marilyn monroe and Albert Einstein, what would you say? I would put money on 99 percent of you saying Einstein.
What kind of insane nutcase would would say that Marilyn’s IQ would be higher? Einstein was the father of modern physics. Marilyn seduced a president.
He had an IQ of one hundred and sixty; she had an IQ of one hundred and sixty-three…
What? You’re probably trying to convince yourself that can’t possibly be true. Why not? Why can’t Marilyn have a higher IQ than Einstein? Many of you would reply; because she’s blonde.
Are you a blonde? Have you ever been the victim of an unprovoked attack, stereotyping you as a dumb blonde? Well the fact of the matter is that you’re not alone. Most blondes will have been accused of being blonde and brainless on numerous occassions throughout their lives.
If you are not blonde, than you have probably been the victor, winning one over a blonde because you are jealous of the fact that blondes DO happen to have more fun. Why aren’t brunettes seen as ditzy? Why isn’t it “oh my god, what a dumb redhead” or “don’t ask me i’m just a brunette? Why blondes?Well i took it upon myself to research this debated topic and I am now going to tell all of you why it is blondes that are discriminated against.
It was the late 1950’s and the Hollywood scene was boasting large numbers of beautiful brunettes and redheads. They were all adored by men, all fantastic actresses, all sexy, sassy, sophisticated and smart. Then came along Marilyn Monroe. She rapidly became a stunning screen siren, basking in the adoration of men all around the world. She was a goddess, who unfortunately inherited a label stereotyping her as a dumb blonde. She starred in box office smash hits like “Some Like It Hot” and “Gentlemen Prefer Blondes”, and in each movie she plays a stunning blonde guy magnet who is as thick as to short planks. This “dumb” label stuck with Marilyn, and the attitude towards blondes reverberated through generations, with discrimination against blondes more wide spread than ever.
Marilyn wasn’t the only blonde throughout history to influence the public that blondes are unintelligent. In the late 1950’s a doll was introduced onto the market by a little known company named Mattel. Yes it was Barbie. Sure, she looks innocent enough, but if you take a closer look at the stories, comics, movies and tv shows starring Barbie, she acts utterly and completely helpless.
One of the main ways a non-blonde attacks their target is through the insulting and demeaning jokes about the intelligence of blondes. Here’s a cracker. How do you know a blondes been on your computer? There’s whiteout on your screen. Ha. Ha. Ha. NOT! That’s not even funny! These evil predators that like to insult blondes will certainly go to the limits to make someone feel bad or lowly, just because they have insecurities themselves! And anyway, I have never met anyone so ridiculously stupid enough to put whiteout on their screen when there is a little backspace button conveniently located on your keyboard. These ludicrous excuses for jokes must come to an end immediately, or they’ll have to have a word with me…
I am determined to take stand on this atrocity. It is thought of as lowly and pathetic if you discriminate against someone with different coloured skin to your own or someone who is another religion, gender or has different ancestry. There are federal laws against sexual discrimination. So why is it ok to discriminate against blondes?
Maybe, just maybe, we will have role models, blondes who have defied the prejudices and have become successful. Movies like Legally Blonde, starring Reese Witherspoon, are beginning to influence society a bit. Blonde career women are beginning to appear, and they are strong confident and proud of who they are. They are also intillectual and it is a pity they don’t bring to the attention of the public the importance of treating blondes equally. I am not sure what the future will hold for us golden haired gals, but i am hopeful it will be full of fun, happy and justified times.
Next time you have the privelige of conversing with a blonde, don’t offend her because she is apparently “dumb.” I suggest you find scientific proof that hair colour affects brain potential before you even mention the so-called “dumb blonde myth.”
