In that way, technological advancement has been beneficial for the most of us. However, as it continue to emerge until it seems like it is already a part of our daily lives, the advanced technology is also being used for unnecessary activities such as scamming, phishing, identity theft, cyberbullying, cybersex and many more cybercrimes.

Recently, I have heard from news reports regarding the so called “Momo Challenge” wherein children were instructed to hurt his/herself until he/she dies. Based on what I have watched on the news, the Philippine National Police is still investigating this case so it was not confirmed yet. Although whether it is true or not, it is so tragic to imagine that the modernization is really being used for these horrible doings.

In this cases, I have realized that no matter how advantageous it seems, there will always be a disadvantage. In such circumstances, technology was being used for malicious intentions and crimes instead of using it to work efficiently. Based on the circumstances I have mentioned, I therefore realized that the blame of the said danger shall not directly fall for the technology itself but instead to us, people. Yes, technology is a great factor. In my humble opinion it is the unjust human activities on technology which made it dangerous.

If only each and every user of the technology is ethical and righteous enough, the danger of technology could vanish or if not be minimized. It is because human as we are, we are curious of how far and to what extent we can do with the use of technology to the point that some were able to use it for dangerous or illegal things which hurt and cause harm to their fellowmen. So I would be able to take an action with my own little ways, I commit myself of being a responsible citizen even if it is online or even with the use of any form of technology.
