Novel the Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas

One of the best novels I have read is The Count of Monte Cristo. This book is about a man, Edmond Dantes, who gets arrested for a crime he did not do He gets arrested. Then at the jail he meets a man, Abbe Faria, who teaches him to survive and fight, so he does not lose his mind. The book was written in 1844, by French author Alexandre Dumas. He is best known for his historical novels of high adventure. The book has been an inspiration for films and TV series for many years.

This novel is set in 1815 to 1833‘ At the start of the story Edmond Dantes arrives from his job on a sailing ship to marry his fiancee Mercedes But before his wedding day he gets arrested, because Mercedes‘ cousin, Fernand, sends an anonymous letter accusing Edmond of being a traitor.

By the end of the story everything has changed. Edmond is not with Mercedes anymore, but he finds love with someone else, I really enjoyed the story I really liked that the main character did not give up on his life and fought his way through all of the dark years of his life.

The best moment was, when Edmond was tired of being trapped in jail and he started to starve himself, but then he heard a sound of a scrape on the wall. That is how he met Abba Faris. All in all, the book is great and very interesting to read, the story is very well and clear written thoroughly recommend this book to anyone who likes novels and stories that can sweep you off your feet.
