In his lifetime he has gotten about 1000 patents for all his inventions. Edison was the inventor of the practical lightbulb. We would still be using candles and having restrictions on our daily work if we did not get the pleasure of using his invention to light up our workspaces, roads, homes, and schools. He was one of the first inventors who used the principles of mass productions.

He developed the microphone with the carbon microphone. Which opened up a new world for enhancing the sound.

People today use microphones for shows, concerts, radio, and cell phones. He was always curious about how things worked, and he always asked why. That question of why and how a big thing for inventors is to think about. It causes the mind to expand from the way things work to why they work and how each part of an object or machine works together.

His desire to succeed and his diligence to do so is a big inspiration for all of us to reflect upon. The fact that he never gave up on what he was trying to achieve is an encouragement for those inventors who are not having much luck with getting to their goals. Another one of his inventions was the movie camera which helped to spark the movie industry with being able to record motion and put it on film.

He is also a great example of the achievements that you can make even when you are homeschooled. I look up to him as an inventor and homeschooler. It gives me much encouragement to think that someone so creative and studious was schooled the same way as I was.
