Learning About the Philosophy of Education and Its Use

“What did you learn about having a philosophy of education from this assignment, and how will you use this learning in the future?” Philosophy of education to me is my personal theory of how I will be as a classroom teacher I’ve learned through this assignment that there is more to that, People confused theory with the normalization of philosophy every day. I‘ve taken away that they are two different things Philosophy is a way in which professionals sought out to practice So when I look at my own philosophy I look at my experiences, I look at the purpose of education as a whole As a classroom teacher I plan to take more of a progressive approach I believe in creating a student center classroom.

Looking back at the great philosopher’s John Dewey, and Rousseau they agreed that knowledge is not static l to believe that knowledge is dynamic. As Dewey discovered, learners need to find knowledge in their own way with guidance.

In creating my classroom introduction I will demonstrate in-depth learning with an integrated curriculum. Growing up I had plenty of traditional teachers with isolated curricula and although that approach might work for some students it didn‘t work for me. Adapting more of progressive philosophy I will focus on their needs individually in the classroom. Allowing the students as a whole to think for themselves. Test cannot measure whether or not a child is an educated person but I believe they are able to test progression.
